Yes, it’s time for celebration! LAGASTA turns 10 this year, and what a better way to celebrate a decade of unforgettable road trips than with a very special release, a new compilation of exclusive covers by some of our favourite artists and producers.

LAGASTA’s 10 years anniversary compilation will drop on May 6th as a free download via Bandcamp, with artwork by one of the most exciting graphic designers today, Portugal-born, NYC-based Bráulio Amado. Good times!

Before it drops, our good friends over at Les Yeux Orange just premiered the first track from La.Ga.Sta.’s 10 years compilation, a great cover of “How Much Are They” by Permanent Vacation co-founder Benjamin Fröhlich. Here’s what they have to say…

Last Gas Station, aka La.Ga.Sta., turns 10 this year, and celebrates its tunefully inspirational road trips through all these years in a very special way. They invited some of their favourite artists and producers, who have been part of LAGASTA’s family all these years, to choose a best-loved song of theirs, and make a cover version of it for a new anniversary compilation. The outcome is an exceptional ….track compilation that brings the most deserving music to the surface, from George Michael to Siouxsie and the Banshees and from Pet Shop Boys to Blood Orange. It’s a fusion of different decades and music styles.

Munich’s Benjamin Fröhlich, co-founder of the ever-excellent Permanent Vacation imprint and a great producer and DJ, has been part of LAGASTA since the very first days, with some of LAGASTA’s most beloved tracks being released in his label. For the compilation he serves his version on a track that was a big inspiration for him through the years; the 1981 “How Much Are They”, an 80s anthem from Jah Wobble/Jaki Liebezeit/Holger Czukay, taken from their collaborative album “Full Circle” that was released back in 1982. A true masterpiece. Can’t wait for the rest to come!

There’s more to come. Stay gas!

Permanent Vacation co-founder Benjamin Fröhlich, who has emerged as a producer of vibrant tracks that are testament to his versatile and compelling approach to club music, will drop his debut album, entitled “Amiata”, on May 10th on the label he runs with Tom Bioly.

The nine-track record is a conglomerate of Benjamin Fröhlich’s longstanding experience. Just like his DJ sets and work for Permanent Vacation, each of the album’s tracks expresses a different facet of his musical preferences. While keeping it under the roof of Benjamin’s specific sound, the tracks range from Dub hybrids to Italo, disco and boogie-inspired tracks, ’90s spacy breakbeats and electro to classic house. Here’s the album’s lead single “Saturnia” for your listening pleasure. It’s so damn good.

The single “Saturnia”, backed with two rave remixes by by Kiwi and Margot, is out now on Permanent Vacation. Get it here.

Munich’s Benjamin Fröhlich, co-founder of the ever-excellent Permanent Vacation imprint, has delivered four different dubby versions of Woolfy Vs. Projections’s tracks “Not My Lover” and “Walkaway”, taken from the California duo’s 2015 third studio album “Stations”. It’s a well-crafted EP for late night rides, mellow evenings and everything in between. Our favorite cut from the release is Benjamin Fröhlich’s “Uptown” remix of “Not My Lover”, a superb dubbed-out version with a tropical feel. Give it a spin above, and enjoy the ride.

The “Woolfy vs. Projections – The Benjamin Fröhlich Versions” is out now on Permanent Vacation. Grab yourself a copy of the EP here.

While the blissful tune “Jakie”, a foretaste from Woolfy Vs. Projections’ upcoming third album “Stations”, is still on repeat mode on our car stereo, the duo of California-based musicians Simon “Woolfy” James and Dan Hastie have just shared the record’s fist single “Combination”. It’s a spaced-out cosmic house jam that gives us yet another reason to get excited about “Stations”. The 10-track record, which completes a trilogy that started with their two previous albums 2008’s “The Astral Projections Of Starlight” and 2012’s “The Return Of Love”, is said to be a “psychedelic folk album through modern day disco aesthetic.” The album “Stations” will drop on August 21 via Permanent Vacation.

The single “Combination”, which includes a fine remix by Permanent Vacation’s co-founder Benjamin Fröhlich, is out now. Get it here.
