Great news! London producer Jamie xx has shared the video for his brilliant new single “Loud Places”, featuring his fellow The xx bandmate Romy Madley Croft, and we’re so excited. The track, which uses a sample of Idris Muhammad’s 1977 disco classic “Could Heaven Ever Be Like This”, is taken from his upcoming debut solo album, called “In Colour”, set to drop on June 1 via Young Turks. The 11-track record also features collaborations with the xx’s Oliver Sim, Four Tet, Young Thug, and Popcaan.

“‘In Colour’ doesn’t feel like my first album because it’s the end of six years’ work. It’s about all of the music I’ve been inspired by in that time; the people I’ve met, the places I’ve been. I’ve gone from being a fan of electronic music, admiring great artists and producers, to feeling like I’m a part of their world. In Colour is about transition and transformation- going away, coming home, going away again, coming home again- and how that journey changes me every time,” says Jamie xx.

You can pre-order the album here.

London’s The New Sins, the duo of producer Nick Phillips and his longtime collaborator Lou Hayter, ex-keyboardist of New Young Pony Club, dropped a banger of tune in the form of “Lights Down” last year, but it’s finally getting a proper digital release on March 30th via Defected Records. The release comes backed with a killer remix of the track by UK house duo Waze & Odyssey, already featured in The Magician’s recent Magic Tape 50. On their remix of “Lights Down”, the unstoppable duo of Serge Santiago and Firas Waez rework the original cut into something altogether more suited for the dancefloor. And it’s absolute fire. Howling: “Signs”

After exploding onto the scene with an accidental hit “Howling” all the way back in 2012, Berlin-based producer and Innervisions co-founder Frank Wiedemann (of Âme fame) and Australian-born, LA-based folk singer Ry X (of The Acid) have returned with their stellar new single “Signs” as Howling. Beautiful and hypnotic, “Signs” is a shining representative of Howling’s upcoming debut album “Sacred Ground”, which will drop on May 4th through Modeselektor’s Monkeytown and Ninja Tune’s sub-label Counter Records.

“Our process was very, very organic. For both of us, it’s just about the creation. Each song has a little journey of its own. The vision’s beautiful between us because there’s a lot of trust. It’s a very intuitive process where we fall in love with one element of the song or one element of a thought, and we follow that until both of those ideas have been met,” says Ry X. Give “Signs” a spin above and watch the video for the track, directed by Ry X and Constantin Demner, below. You can pre-order the LP here.
