Swedish house producer Kornél Kovács returns with his second album “Stockholm Marathon” on Studio Barnhus, which follows his 2016’s superb debut LP “The Bells”. Some of his dearest Stockholm people have been extremely involved in the making of this record: jazz musician Niclas Skagstedt, Matt Karmil, Rebecca & Fiona. Speaking of the album, Kornél Kovács says: “In the past, making music has mostly been a solitary pursuit for me. My previous album ‘The Bells’ was largely the result of sitting alone in dark rooms for years. Funny thing that while ‘Stockholm Marathon’ is more of a collaborative effort than anything I’ve done before, it also feels to me like the most personal music I’ve released so far.” Get your fill of the record’s lead single “Rocks”, featuring Rebecca & Fiona, above.

The “Stockholm Marathon” drops on April 26th via Studio Barnhus. Pre-order it here

Swedish producer and DJ Kornél Kovács, who runs with his mates Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist the ever-excellent label Studio Barnhus, delivers his debut EP on Endless Flight. The “Szamár” 10” includes two sample house bangers that came to life only for one reason: to make people smile! The record’s B-side feaures a killer remix of “Order To The Senses” by New Zealand/German duo Snacks. The priginal tune was originally featured on the “I’m Starting To Feel Okay Volume 7′, which was released last year on Mule Musiq. On his remix of “Order To The Senses”, Kornél Kovács transformed it into a melancholic house anthem full of highlife guitar riffs and smiling horn sounds. This one will get some serious rotations.

Swedish house producer Kornél Kovács, one third of influential Stockholm label Studio Barnhus alongside Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist, will drop his debut album “The Bells” in August. The ten-track record was completed in an intense two-week session with Kovács’ close friend and studio engineer Matt Karmil. Our first taste from the forthcoming LP comes in the form of “BB”, a groove-filled summer jam. Just perfect!

“Kornél’s bells will echo far beyond the nervous and trend sensitive ”dance” genre that our label sometimes is associated with, and into pop history. It’s one of our best, most innovative and creative releases to date, and the fact that one of my best friends has managed to do this on the label we share together makes me so proud that I want to cry. The Bells is the reason I dreamed of starting a label in the first place,” says Barnhus co-founder Axel Boman.

“The Bells” will arrive on August 26th on Studio Barnhus.

Stockholm-based producer and Studio Barnhus co-founder Kornél Kovács brings some serious heat with his new EP called “Radio Koko”, which marks his debut release for Glasgow’s Numbers imprint. Named after a “dream radio station where music never sleeps and the hits keep coming”, “Radio Koko” collects four tracks and features a collaboration with fellow Swedish producer Marcus Price. The EP also includes the groove-filled tune “Pantalón”, which you may remember from his superb “1985 Edits” 12-inch. Today, we’re treated to a stream of the record’s lead single “Lighthouse”, a seven-minute summertime tune that’s equally suited for the home stereo as well as the dancefloor.

Kornél Kovács’ “Radio Koko” EP will drop in both vinyl and digital formats on June 22 via Numbers. Pre-order it here.

Our first “An Edit To Remember” of 2015 comes from Stockholm producer Kornél Kovács, aka Koko, a founding member of the ever-excellent Studio Barnhus label. A few months ago, he dropped three edits of tracks from the year he was born for the vinyl-only Puss label he co-runs with fellow Swedish producer HNNY. Our favorite cut from his excellent “1985 Edits” is “Ivan”, a superb groove-filled rework of a track from Spanish disco singer Ivan. Give “Ivan” a few spins above and stream the whole thing here.
