White Elephant: “Tears”

White Elephant: “Tears”

White Elephant is a collaboration between Crazy P’s Jim Baron, aka Ron Basejam, and Chris Todd with Ben Smith (of Smith & Mudd fame). Their first track, the gorgeous “Sir John” of pure Balearic bliss, appeared on a limited 10” on Redux imprint all the way back in 2011 and became a definite fixture in sunset sessions. Five years after the release of “Sir John”, White Elephant return in fine form with their their first EP, entitled “The Old Euphonium”, and it’s a great one. This finely crafted four-tracker delivers the kind of sounds you might expect to hear them spinning: melody-driven, slow-burning Krautrock/Balearic jams. Our favorite cut from the EP is “Tears”, a beauty of a tune filled with blissful guitar licks and melancholic piano chords. Give it a spin below, and ride with us.

“The Old Euphonium” EP is out now on White Elephant’s very own Woman Records. Buy it here.
