Perdu: “Rise Of F5”

It’s a gorgeous, synth-driven slice of dancefloor euphoria.

Perdu debuts on Live At Robert Johnson with a great new EP called “Soaring Flight”.

Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Alain van der Born aka Perdu, who already made his marks with a string of quality releases on labels such as DGTL Records, Heist, Optimo Music’s Digital Danceforce and Let’s Play House, amongst others, makes a welcome return with a new EP called “Soaring Flight”. The new record, which follows last year’s “Finding Life On Planet Rash” on Budapest’s This Is Our Time imprint, marks his debut release for the ever-excellent Live At Robert Johnson.

Consisting of four original tracks, and a digital-only bonus cut, the EP sees the exceptional producer champions a full-on 1980s sound, which hits more than one chord in Live At Robert Johnson’s very own set of styles. The record also features a collaborative tune with fellow Dutch producer Tjade on the opener “Dystopia”, a high-energy track.

One of our favourite tracks from the record is the B1 cut “Rise Of F5”, a gorgeous, synth-driven slice of dancefloor euphoria, which we’re excited to premiere here at LAGASTA HQ. Clocking in at nearly six minutes, “Rise Of F5” brings back those ’80s signature pumping kick and gated reverb snare drums, employing melodic and slightly haunting elements, which eventually dissolve in euphoria and a melody to hum along with or shout, if you prefer. It’s already on repeat.

Perdu’s “Soaring Flight” EP will drop on April 16th via Live At Robert Johnson.
