Having established himself as one of the biggest names on the nu-disco scene with his 2016 superb debut album “Panorama Pacifico”, Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets, cemented that success with his 2019 follow-up “Solar Nights” that saw the prolific German producer broaden his sound, collaborating with songwriters and vocalists from around the world to stunning effect.

Returning to the studio in 2020, Bernhardt has been inspired to return to his instrumental roots, the lessons learnt from the past few years applied to the dreamy, laid-back electronic music that he first made his name with and which can now be heard on his great new EP “Hidden Treasures” on Eskimo Recordings. The record’s four tracks are 100% undiluted and unfiltered Satin Jackets, imbued from start to finish with the chilled vibes and charm of his debut, the technical skill and musicality of its follow up, and crucially the confidence of a producer who in 2020 is at the top of his game.

“I’ll always enjoy working with great vocalists,” affirms Tim. “But for me instrumental tracks have this magic, this power that unfolds in their own unique way. Unbound by any kind of song structure or decisive meaning I can design them in my own way and focus more on the mood and the feeling. That’s why I decided to continue on that path with this EP, and the result is four tracks that tell a story about a particular chapter of my life. At the same time they’re open enough for the listener to insert their own story into it.

Today we are delighted to premiere the EPs closer “Sassa And Back”, a reflective slice of heavenly disco, underpinned by elegant strings that tease us throughout the track before stirring into something truly transcendent yet at the same time quietly understated. We’d expect nothing less from Satin Jackets. Get your fill of “Sassa And Back” and ride with us.

Satin Jackets’ “Hidden Treasures” EP arrives on July 17th via Eskimo Recordings.

Keeping things nice and sleazy Parisian producer Simon Says makes his debut on Eskimo Recordings covering English synth-pop band Blancmange’s 1982 album track “Feel Me”, transforming the song into the kind of outrageously funky slice new wave disco. The track comes complate with some fine remixes by the likes of Greek producer and Eskimo regular NTEIBINT, fellow French remixer extraordinaire Yuksek and everyone’s favorite UK DJ/writer/historian/collector Bill Brewster.

Before it drops, we’re delighted to premiere NTEIBINT’s great remix of “Feel Me”. Once again, our beloved producer has managed to deliver something rather special. On his seven-minute remix of “Feel Me”, he strips the track down to its bare skin and puts the focus on its percussive elements and rubbery bass line. The result is a chugging floor filler that rewards repeat listens. Stream it above, exclusively on LaGaSta.

The “Feel Me” EP arrives on September 21 on Eskimo Recordings. Pre-order it here.
