Finally something new from our beloved Erlend Øye. After moving to Italy last year, it was only a matter of time before the Norwegian singer/producer/musician Erlend Øye (of Kings of Convenience and the Whitest Boy Alive fame) wrote his first song in Italian. So here’s “La Prima Estate”, a perfect Italian pop track for these hot summer days. La vita è bella.

“La Prima Estate”, a song about his friend Lucia and her day of graduation, was recorded in Berlin, backed by the musicians of The Whitest Boy Alive on bass, drums and synthesizer. Erlend Øye plays the electric guitar and mandolin, while Victor Abrahamsson is responsible for the song’s signature flute melodies. Can we have the new Whitest Boy Alive album now, please?

Erlend Øye’s “La Prima Estate” is out now via Bubbles Records. Get it here.
