Great news! John Talabot’s excellent Hivern Discs label starts a new “white-label” series, called “Blanc”. The new series will consist of one-sided 12” and will be limited to 100 copies available from the label’s website.
Each release will feature an uncredited cut from Hivern Discs’ current stable of artists, which includes Teengirl Fantasy, Pional, Aster, New Jackson, and John Talabot himself.
The first installment of “white-label” series, “It’s All Over”, sounds so good. Give it a spin above, and pick up your 12” here. Be quick! Out on April 22th.

From a studio near the sea, Dublin’s David Kitt continues his New Jackson adventures, making nocturnal house jams with a ghostly disco tint. After releasing the solid “The Night Mail” EP on local label Pogo Recordings in 2011, New Jackson returns with his gorgeous debut release “Sat Around Here Waiting” for John Talabot’s label, Hivern Discs. His new 12” also features two remixes by Fort Romeau and Pional. Give “Sat Around Here Waiting” a spin above, and shoot out the lights.
New Jackson’s new 12″, “Sat Around Here Waiting” EP, will be released on March 4th.

Wisconsin’s Peaking Lights, the married duo of Indra Dunis and Aaron Coyes, will soon drop a new EP with four remixes of songs off their 2012 album, “Lucifer”, on Mexican Summer. Today, we’re treated to a dub version of the track “Beautiful Son” from our favorite Spanish producer John Talabot. This is absolutely beautiful. The EP also features reworks by the likes of Romare, Richard Formby and Cole MGN. Out on February 18th.

Once more during this year we have been sharing with you tons of free music, and today we’re really excited to reveal La.Ga.Sta.’s Top 40 most downloaded tracks of 2012. This is a chart compiled by our readers, who by the way have great taste. We couldn’t agree more. Breakbot’s “Programme” is top of the list, followed closely by Perseus’ “Seychelles” and Chromatics’ “Kill For Love”. Of course there is more to this list. Who can drive passed beloved artists such as Todd Terje, John Talabot, Poolside, The Magician, Classixx, Moon Boots, among others, or tracks like Slow Hands’ cover of Bon Iver’s “Towers” and Pional’s remix of The Rapture’s “In The Grace Of Your Love”.

Obviously, we have a great deal of love for John Talabot here at La.Ga.Sta. Today, the Barcelona-based house producer dropped the deluxe edition of his debut album “ƒin”, one of our favorite albums of 2012. This deluxe version includes previously unreleased bonus cuts and quality remixes by the likes of Pachanga Boys, Kenton Slash Demon, Bullion, and Bostro Pesopeo. It also features this tropical-flavored 80′s Tapemix of “Zanzibar”, which you can stream above. It’s an absolute gem!

It’s been a long journey, but the second installment on John Talabot’s label Hivern Discs edit series, called “HivernEd”, finally see the light of day. Following the release of last year’s “Hiverned#1″, the second release features “Invitation To Love” on the a-side, a great dancefloor-ready edit by the mysterious TB. Based on Twin Peaks OST’s classic “Laura Palmer’s Theme” from Angelo Badalamenti, this euphoric refix has been a dancefloor weapon of John Talabot’s DJ sets. You can now stream it above. The b-side includes Marc Piñol’s edit “Arrebato”.
