Barcelona-based producer and former Aster membe Jami Bassols has returned to Hivern Discs with his excellent solo debut EP “Thrills” under his JMII alias. The digital version of “Thrills” also includes a classy rework of the EPs title track by non other than John Talabot, which has become a fixture in his sets over the past few months. Blast it above.

Spanish house wizard John Talabot has already released a remix of London’s producer Jamie xx “In Colour” standout “Loud Places”, and now he’s getting ready to drop a white-label 12” that includes two dub versions of the track. Feast your ears to the “Higher Dub” version of “Loud Places” that clocks in at ten minutes. Expect nothing but quality. “Loud Places”, featuring his fellow the xx bandmate Romy Madley Croft, appears on Jamie xx’s excellent debut solo album “In Colour”.

London producer Jamie xx just dropped a strong remix EP of “Loud Places”, featuring his fellow the xx bandmate Romy Madley Croft, a standout track from his debut solo album “In Colour”. The release features five reinterpretations by the likes of John Talabot, Tessela, Barnt, Matthew Herbert and Paul Woolford under his Special Request guise. Here, we have two remixes for your listening pleasure: John Talabot’s “Loud Synths Reconstruction” and Barnt’s “E-Mix”. Still waiting for Talabot’s great dub version to come out.

Let your ears feast on this quality edit called “Aguirre” from Spanish maestro John Talabot and Genius Of Time’s Alexander Berg, aka Dorisburg, as Tempel Rytmik. Taken from the third installment of Hivern Discs’ vinyl-only edit series”HivernEd” of obscure tracks. It also features “Zulu”, another technoish edit from John Talabot and fellow Barcelona producer Marc Piñol, on the flip.

Let’s take a ride with his “dusty” edit of Cecil “Maestro” Hume’s 1976 track “Dread Man”. As he says: “When I’m on tour travelling I like to do edits. While waiting in airports, cars, vans, trains, customs, hotels, soundchecks I do them. This is one of my favourites.”

Spanish house wiz John Talabot delivers a perfectly crafted remix of Hot Chip’s cover of William Onyeabor’s 1978 song “Atomic Bomb”, released last year via David Byrne’s label Luaka Bop. The remix will be available as 12″, made special for Record Store Day, April 18th. The 12” will also feature covers and remixes by Japanese artist Oorutaichi, Show Dem Camp (SDC), Funbi & Ikon, and Secret Circuit & Lovefingers as Secret Fingers.

Spanish house wiz and Hivern Discs boss John Talabot will drop a new remix EP for his sublime tune “Without You”, first appeared on his excellent 2013 DJ-Kicks mix, for the relaunch of !K7’s “DJ-Kicks” 12″ series. The release comes backed with three remixes from Thomas Melchior under his Melchior Productions Ltd moniker, Berlin producer/DJ Oskar Offermann, and mysterious Barcelonan producer Mistakes Are Ok, whose “Midnight Version” of “Without You” can now be streamed above. And it’s just a great ride.

Copenhagen-based producer Torsten Lindsø Andersen, aka Round, is truly an exciting new artist. He has already wowed us with his excellent debut “Glass”/”Float” EP of warm breezy grooves and rich, glowing house tunes, released at the tail-end of last year on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs label.
