We are 10! Last Gas Station, aka LAGASTA, turns 10 this year, and celebrates its tunefully inspirational road trips through all these years in a very special way: a new compilation of exclusive covers! They invited some of their favourite artists and producers, who have been part of La.Ga.Sta.’s family all these years, to choose a best-loved song of theirs, and make a cover version of it for a new anniversary compilation. The outcome is an exceptional…track compilation that brings the most deserving music to the surface, from George Michael to Siouxsie and the Banshees and from Whitney Houston to Blood Orange. It’s a fusion of different decades and music styles. The 15-track compilation is now available as a free download, artwork by one of the most exciting graphic designers today, Portugal-born, NYC-based Bráulio Amado.

TRACKLIST:

And they’re back! Hot Chip will drop their electrifying seventh album, entilted “A Bath Full of Ecstasy”, in June. Their third album for Domino, “A Bath Full of Ecstasy” is the group’s definitive release, crystallising the sound they’ve become celebrated for – bridging euphoria and melancholy with colourful melodies, idiosyncratic vocalisations and pounding electronic pop rhythms.

The band have shared the record’s first single, “Hungry Child”; for 6 glorious minutes, Hot Chip fuse the uplifting soft pads and melodic keys of classic soulful house and the percussive swing of UK garage, full of sweet vocalisations and rhythmic snaps, to make an instant, club-ready hit. The video for “Hungry Child” is directed by Saman Kesh and features Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub, and is unmissable. Watch it above.

Hot Chip’s “A Bath Full of Ecstasy” drops on June 21 on Domino. Pre-order it here.

Last year, Hot Chip member and Greco-Roman co-founder Joe Goddard dropped his second solo album “Electric Lines”, and now he’s back with a new 12”, featuring two tracks “So Much” and Human Touch” aimed squarely at the dancefloor. In his own words: “‘So Much’ is a deep-ish house record inspired by the feel of something like the almighty classic ‘E.S.P. – It’s You’. I asked my friend Morgan Geist to mix it for me as he is fantastic at getting the feel of a record like that. The other side is about getting together in real life rather than through a screen, its called ‘Human touch’. It features my 808 heavily, as you will hear”. Here’s the record’s a-side cut “So Much”, a 10-minute late-night epic. It’s so damn good. Blast it above.

The “So Much/Human Touch” 12″ is out now on Domino. Pick up your copy here.

Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor returns with a new solo album, entitled “Beautiful Thing”, which follows last year’s “Listen With(out) Piano” reinterpretation album and 2016’s “Piano” LP. His fourth solo record represents the first time Alexis Taylor has made a solo album with a producer, that producer being Tim Goldsworthy, co-founder of Mo Wax and DFA Recordings and member of UNKLE.

In his own words: “I made this album with Tim Goldsworthy – my first time working on solo music with a producer. I am so happy with the results – it feels like quite a departure to me, and we really had some fun making it, with some new technology as well as instruments we created just for this record. Whilst primarily made on my own with Tim, other guest musicians include Neil Hagerty, Susumu Mukai, and Emma Smith, and Joe Goddard from Hot Chip produced one track too. I am very excited for everyone to get to hear the LP in April.”

Today, Alexis Taylor has share the video for the album’s title track and the track that kick-started the recording process with Goldsworthy. With “Beautiful Thing”, he combines experimental, clattering noises with crazed, disco lavishness and bug-eyed acid house momentum to create something giddy and glorious. The video, directed by Edwin Burdis, is a suitably compelling counterpart. Watch it above.

The album “Beautiful Thing” arrives on April 20th on Domino. Pre-order it here.

After dropping the Emotions-sampling house tune “Lose Your Love” last month, Hot Chip member and Greco-Roman co-founder Joe Goddard is back with his new single “Music Is The Answer”, the second track from his upcoming solo album “Electric Lines”. You can watch the video for the infectious track, which features vocals from London-based singer-songwriter Jess Mills, also known as Slo. The video was directed by Shynola.

Set to drop on April 12 on Greco-Roman/Domino, the ten-track “Electric Lines” LP also features Hot Chip bandmate Alexis Taylor on the title track, while Michigan-based singer Daniel Wilson makes an appearance on disco-sampling deep house tune “Home”. The title refers to the colourful cables that link the modules in his Eurorack synthesizer and to the invisible wires that run between all the different kinds of electronic music that he loves.
