John Wizards: “Muizenberg (The 2 Bears Remix)”

It’s certainly been quite some time since we’ve heard anything new from The 2 Bears, aka Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell, but now they’re back in action with a remix of Cape Town’s John Wizards sun-soaked single “Muizenberg”, a standout track from their self-titled debut album on Planet Mu. This superb remix find The 2 Bears stretching the tune into a nine-plus-minutes of playful house. It’s truly something special.

Joe Goddard: “Taking Over” Video

Hot Chip member and Greco-Roman co-head Joe Goddard has shared this fantastic video for “Taking Over”, which features a singing kebab! The track appears on his latest solo EP of the same title, out now via DFA/Greco-Roman. Peep the clip above, and take another ride with his new remix for London Grammar’s stripped-back cover of Kavinsky’s “Nightcall”. Joe Goddard can do no wrong.

Bondax: “Giving It All (Joe Goddard Remix)”

Lancaster’s Bondax, the teenage duo of George Townsend and Adam Kaye, summery slow jam “Giving It All” has already received remix treatments from Liverpool producer Friend Within and Parisian producer French Kiwi Juice. The remixes just keep on coming with Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard take on their latest single, which drops on September 22 via Relentless. And it’s a great one. Give it a spin above.

Joe Goddard & Boris Dlugosch: “Step Together”

We’ve already featured the Mara Carlyle-featuring single “She Burns” (watch the darkly video here), and today Hot Chip member and Greco-Roman co-head Joe Goddard has dropped his new four-track EP “Taking Over”, an “attempt to make synthesizers sound nice”.

Osborne: “Hold Up” (feat. Joe Goddard)

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Detroit producer Todd Osborn, but now he’s back with his great new single “Hold Up” under his Osborne alias. This smooth, groovy house jam, which features Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard on vocals, will be released on Spectral Sound, the sister label of Ghostly International.

“Hold Up” is the first new original material since 2009′s “Hovercrafting” EP and 2008′s self-titled debut. The release comes backed with a dub version of “Hold Up” by Joe Goddard, a new song, entitled “All Night,” and a remix by Tuff City Kids, the German duo of Gerd Janson, boss of Running Back, and Phillip Lauer.

Hot Chip: “Dark & Stormy”

Hot Chip make a welcome return with their brand new single “Dark & Stormy”, their first original material since 2012 album “In Our Heads”. This one-off single will be released on July 22 via Domino, and comes backed with a new version of “Look At Where We Are”, featuring Tori and Reiko Kudo from the legendary Japanese folk-psych collective Maher Shalal Hash Baz.

Fainting by Numbers: “A Stone In The Ground”

Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor has teamed up once again with German techno producer Justus Köhncke, this time for a new project, called Fainting by Numbers. The pair’s debut single, a double a-side 12″, includes a cover of John Lennon’s “Watching The Wheels” and an original track, called “A Stone In The Ground”, on the b-side. Here’s the delicate synth-pop jam “A Stone In The Ground”, a delightful listen all around. Give it a spin above and drive slow.

Valentina: “Wolves”

Best known for her collaboration with Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard on the amazing tune “Gabriel” for DFA, London-based singer/songwriter Valentina just dropped her new single, called “Wolves”, and it’s truly a beauty. “Wolves” will appear on her debut EP of the same name, out on April 15th via Greco-Roman. The EP also features four other tracks constructed by her friend and long-term collaborator Kwes, who recently signed to Warp Records.

New Build: “Your Love (Tornado Wallace Remix)”

December 6th, 2012

New Build, aka Hot Chip’s Al Doyle and Felix Martin, and studio engineer Tom Hopkins, will put out a new single “Your Love”, off their debut album “Yesterday Was Lived And Lost”, which was released via their own imprint Lanark Recordings back in March. The release also includes this excellent remix of “Your Love” by Melbourne-based producer Tornado Wallace. Deep, warm and classy.
