[Premiere] The Juan MacLean: “Can You Ever Really Know Somebody”

March 3rd, 2017

After a long wait, The Juan MacLean return to DFA with a surprise new single “Can You Ever Really Know Somebody”, which marks their first release of original material since 2014’s excellent third album “In A Dream”. Bursting with deep house elastic bounce and electronic pop flourishes, “Can You Ever Really Know Somebody” is pure dancefloor fire! It’s brimming with the kind of disco-house goodness that we’ve come to expect from DFA mainstay John MacLean and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem fame. This one will get some serious rotations this spring. Blast it above, exclusively on La.Ga.Sta.

The single “Can You Ever Really Know Somebody” comes backed with a great remix and a dub version from LA-4A, aka Ambivalent and legally known as American born producer Kevin McHugh. It’s a fitting companion to the original. The track is a taste of things to come, as The Juan Maclean prepares a new LP for DFA, which is expected to arrive in fall 2017.

“Can You Ever Really Know Somebody” is out now on digital streaming & limited 12” on DFA. Pick up your copy here.
