Romy: “Lifetime (Planningtorock ‘Let It Happen’ Remix)”

An absolute banger of a tune.

A euphoric, club-oriented tune about “the dream of being reunited with those we love and capturing the feeling of being together again”, The xx’s Romy Madley-Croft debut solo single “Lifetime” arrived last September. Written and recorded in London during lockdown, the track was created with Romy’s intention to “celebrate life, togetherness, to appreciate the moment before it’s gone.”

Now, Romy’s track “Lifetime” gets the first remix treatment by Planningtorock, aka celebrated gender-queer song writer, composer, producer and director Jam Rostron. In Planningtorock’s capable hands, the original track is transformed into a seven-minute queer dancefloor stomper. Give the “Let It Happen” remix a spin or two above and get into the dancefloor, your living room will do!

The remix is accompanied by a visualiser from designer Patrick Savile and animator Connor Campbell.
