Talamanca System, the trio of International Feel boss Mark Barrott, German producer Phillip Lauer and Running Back boss Gerd Janson, also known as Tuff City Kids, are gearing up to release their self-titled debut album in May. The record’s nine tracks ranging from up to downtempo, piano house smashers that would have deserved the prefix Italo-, percussion rituals captured by a group of Zoo animals on the loose, soundtracks for dusk and dawn, hushed vocals, rites of ambient passages, powerful synth ballads and vamp choirs. If this album were a car, it would be a Citroen 2CV remade by Tesla. Our first taste of the forthcoming album comes in the form of “Transatlantique”, a great, piano-led house tune.

The “Talamanca System” LP drops on May 19 via International Feel. Pre-order it here.

Meet Private Agenda, the newly-formed trio of Nick, Martin and Sean. Hailing from Berlin, Private Agenda recently dropped their superb debut EP “Déjà Vu” on Mark Barrott’s highly-respected International Feel label. Consisting of two well-crated tracks, “Déjà Vu” and “Freefalling”, full of breezy, Balearic pop goodness, this debut record sounds like the perfect soundtrack to your chilled summer evenings.

The EPs title track finds the trio delivering a delicious, sax-driven tune with sun-soaked good vibes that takes us back to Ibiza in the mid ’80s. “Freefalling”, on the other hand, is more tropical affair with floating melodies, brightly colored synths and birds twitter in the background. And yes, it feels so good. Be sure to keep an eye on these guys this year.

The “Déjà Vu” EP is out now via International Feel. Pick up your 12” here.

In 2008, Ibiza-based producer Mark Barrott started his International Feel imprint after moving to Uruguay, and thus came a slew of quality Balearic-influenced releases by DJ Harvey’s Locussolus project, Gatto Fritto, Rocha, Mind Fair, Bepu N’Gali, amongst others. Five years and a whole lot of music later, the label is celebrating its fifth birthday by giving away a few tracks that were never released for download. So do yourself a favor and grab a free download of “Be With Me Tonight”, a beautifully balearic tune that was made at the same time as Mark Barrott’s “Sketches From An Island” album sessions, as well as an instrumental version of Locussolus’ “I Want It”. Happy Birthday!
