Joakim: “Numb” Video

January 25th, 2017

French electronic producer and Tigersushi head honcho Joakim will drop his fourth album “Samurai”, the follow-up to his 2014 LP “Tropics Of Love”, in March. The 13-track record is about his journeys between New York City, Tokyo and Paris. In writing, Joakim was inspired by a range of influences from the literary (Mishima’s Hagakure: Samurai Ethics & Modern Japan), to the sonic (home-made electronic and “new age”’ style music) and the circumstantial (Japan and New York). Today, Joakim has shared a video for the record’s first single “Numb”, which is a parody of the YouTube phenomenon of make-up tutorials. Below, you can grab a free download of a house rework of “Numb” by Parisian producer Borussia.

Directed by Adrian Yu.

The album “Samurai” arrives on March 17th via Tigersushi/Because.

Let’s get tropical! French producer/DJ and Tigersushi head honcho Joakim pays tribute to the magical island of Boipeba in Brazil and the wonderful people of Mareh with a killer new 10-inch called “Boipeba”. As he says: “Two years ago I was invited to play for new year’s eve in Brazil for Mareh Festival on the island of Boipeba. This little piece of paradise, the people on the island and the magical sunrise set I was honored to perform inspired me to do a track as soon as I got back in the studio. Two years later it is released by Mareh Music on a 10″.” Preview the whole thing above.
