After a long wait, Panama return with a new EP called “Hope For Something”, a five-tracker brought to life by Perth-born singer-songwriter Jarrah McCleary’s confessional storytelling. His richest and most moving work yet, the EP’s subject matter spans personal turmoil, making peace with your past and the loss of a loved one, but ultimately emerges optimistic. Our first taste from the upcoming record is the superb title track “Hope For Something”, a song McCleary wrote about his personal demons. “It’s about a battle with yourself,” he says.

Update: Watch the Ariel Fisher-directed video for “Hope For Something” below.

The “Hope For Something” EP, which marks Panama’s first release of original material since 2015’s single “Jungle”, arrives on June 23 on Future Classic. Pre-order it here.

Just last month, Brooklyn’s Chrome Sparks graced us with a superb new track called “Mannus & Venus” as part of Future Classic’s free 2015 sampler. Now, the synth-obsessed musician and producer Jeremy Malvin gets ready to release a new EP called “Parallelism” for the label, which follows last year’s excellent “Goddess” EP. Consisting of three new tracks, the record was made using sounds from three analog synthesizers, vocal samples from friends, and a tambourine. Our first taste comes in the form of “Moonraker”, a smooth, six-minute tune that finds Chrome Sparks doing what he does best. Enjoy the ride.

Perth producers Ta-ku and Kit Pop’s side project HWLS have shared this beautifully shot video for their newest single “005”, a smooth, piano-driven tune. Filmed in Tokyo, the video was directed by Braden Lee for Create & Explore. In his own words: “Tokyo is this futuristic-dystopian metropolis rich in tradition and modernism. My goal was to merge these two themes. Throughout the story we follow two contemporary dancers to the famous Shibuya 5-way crossing. We also observe a mysterious masked figure.” Watch it above.
