#YouAreNotAlone: With the current circumstances and the weird, turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite album or a track for these isolated days, and share it with us along with a photo. An album a day keeps the bad vibes away. Stay safe.

Today we welcome our beloved Berlin-based Italian DJ and producer Budino, one third of the “Dancing for Mental Health” party series at Sameheads and often DJ at the infamous Cocktail d’Amore parties. Budino shares with us of her favourite tracks, Tangerine Dream’s “Rare Bird”.

“Tangerine Dream are a big music influence for me and their music puts me into a trance-peaceful-mind-state where nothing matters anymore. We all need a place like that, especially in this madness. I hope you can find that little sunlight spot with this track as I do every time I play it.”

Today we welcome our beloved Chicago DJ and producer Eris Drew, who runs the T4T LUV NRG recording label with her loving b2b partner Octo Octa. Eris Drew shares with us one of her favourite records, RUN DMC’s “Tougher Than Leather”.

“‘Cuts for days will amaze and maze. But will make you sad to tan all the dance away…’ Been listening a lot to one of my favorite albums from my childhood. Memories provide a lot of comfort these days, so RUN DMC’s “Tougher Than Leather” is on constant rotation. It is an absolutely brilliant hip hop record and one of the coolest collaged pop productions ever. ‘Run’s House’, ‘Beats to the Rhyme’, ‘I’m Not Going Out Like That’, ‘How’d Ya Do It Dee’ are old favorites that still get my blood running. Breaks for dayz…”

Ketiov shares with us one of his all-time favorite songs, Terry Callier’s classic “What Color is Love”.

“I was listening to this album many times last two months. I was just alowed to go to the shop and that’s it. The whole album is amazing but the tittle song is probably one of my favorite songs ever made.”

#YouAreNotAlone: With the current circumstances and the weird, turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite album or a track for these isolated days, and share it with us along with a photo. An album a day keeps the bad vibes away. Stay safe.

Today we welcome our beloved Jerry Bouthier. Balearic pioneer of the Parisian electronic scene with late brother Tom, Jerry Bouthier relocated to London and became DJ stalwart of the Kitsuné label/clothing brand after his DJ residency at the infamous BoomBox club. Composer and sound designer for the fashion world (Vivienne Westwood etc), half of production duo JBAG, A&R of his Continental label, these days he spins an eclectic mix of electrodisco, funky-tech and italo.

“Let me first send good vibes to all, hope your family & friends are ok in these extraordinary times. I picked a record that sounds as relevant today as it did when it came out in 1982, a groundbreaking gem which paved the way for the dancefloor revolution that was to come. The Human League ‘Love & Dancing’ (an apt title more than ever) is the dubbed-out instrumental version of the Sheffield synth pop band’s milestone album ‘Dare’ released under the alias The League Unlimited Orchestra. Incredibly this continuous album – as in with no gaps between songs like a club DJ, one of the first of its kind just after the also great ‘Party Mix’ by The B-52’s and Soft Cell’s ‘Non Stop Ecstatic Dancing’ – combined many of the revolutionary electronic paths that were starting (or about) to infiltrate popular culture.

From NY disco’s fresh techniques of editing/dubbing and electro hip-hop’s Kraftwerk-inspired futuristic synths to the space echoes of Jamaica’s reggae experimentalists, the soon-to-surface repetitive drum machine beats of house and techno’s thumping analog basslines as well as sampling in its prohibitive infancy (the Fairlight), seminal producer Martin Rushent mashed it all up in playful studio sessions with the array of new equipment/technology that was emerging at the time and would go on to irredeemably shape the future. This record remains a fun, striking testament on how machines took on the world and forever transformed music.”

Today our beloved Greek psych-pop musician Panagiotis Melidis, aka Larry Gus, shares with us one of his favorite records, “A Recital Of Scarlatti Sonatas” by the virtuoso harpsichordist George Malcolm.

“Scarlatti’s K.141 in Dm, is the closest thing to my body and mind in the past few months. My guy Domenico wrote 555 of those harpsichord sonatas, and once the lockdown is over, i want to buy a Yamaha TownMate, attach some heavy speakers on it, and start riding that thing with my friend Dipyadeep, until we listen to all 555. I think it will get us to Moscow.”

Today our beloved New York-based musician and producer Ryan Cavanagh, aka Slow Hands, share with us his favourite track, Big Thief’s “Two Hands”, a perfect soundtrack to his daily excursions around the city.

“There aren’t a lot of songs i hear that become my favorite song immediately, but the title song off Big Thief’s ‘Two Hands’ has been on repeat for me since it’s release back in October. You don’t dance so much as sway and swirl to this song, and boy have I. It has this melancholic optimism that will forever stamp the reminder of a NYC pre and post this masked madness. The perfect soundtrack to my daily excursions to say hello to the best city on the planet that I am fortunate enough to call home.”

Today our beloved French producer and Partyfine label founder Yuksek shares with us one of his favourite records of all time to listen during the isolation, De La Soul’s timeless 1989 debut “3 Feet High And Rising”.

In Yuksek’s own words: “This album from De La Soul is definitely one of my top 10 albums of all time. Good vibe hip-hop, inspired soul and a bunch of amazing samples. I’m listening to this record for more than 20 years and I can’t ever get bored of it. Good or bad thing is that there was so many uncleared samples on “3 Feet High And Rising” that’s not available for streaming. So try to get a copy. It’d be damn hard to chose a favourite track, but let’s say ‘The Magic Number'”.

Today our beloved Berlin-based producer Chen Moscovici, aka Moscoman, shares with us one of his favorite records to listen during the isolation, John Coltrane’s timeless masterpiece “Giant Steps”.

“I love ‘Giant Steps’ album and especially the title tune because it follows alternating modulations of major third and augmented fifth intervals. I love listening to it because I could never do something like this. I don’t have the brain capacity for it or 5% of his talent and it reminds me that there are always things bigger than me and us and powers beyond our control, so just go with the flow.”
