Wolfram: “Sad Ibiza Song” (feat. Desire)

A superb track from Italians Do It Better’s “After Dark 4” compilation.

“Sad Ibiza Song” encapsulates the optimism of going out when you are feeling down. Like disco on ice…

Italians Do It Better just dropped the fourth instalment of their long-running compilation series “Αfter Dark”. The new compilation “After Dark 4” features 30 artists from 11 countries, who deliver 27 tracks for the endless summer of your dreams. “Clocking in at just under two hours, the melodies have been soundtracking our weekly night drives between our studio in the desert and our offices in Los Angeles. The rhythms have been working their magic as secret weapons on the dancefloor in our DJ sets”, accodring to Megan Louise and Johnny Jewel.

One of the compilation’s many highlights is the opener “Sad Ibiza Song”, a superb collaborative track from our beloved Wolfram and Desire. Produced by Wolfram and Johnny Jewel, “Sad Ibiza Song” is a sad love anthem, a love letter to Italo disco that has been on repeat on our car stereo for a while now.

“This is the first sad song about Ibiza. It’s the perfect song for mermaids and pirates to make love on the rocks while shipwrecked on the shore”, says Wolfram.

In Johnny Jewel’s own words: “We wanted to make a track in the classic Italo tradition of simple, almost naive, romantic lyrics with a minimal beat. Paying homage to the masters that mended so many broken hearts on the dancefloor. ‘Sad Ibiza Song’ encapsulates the optimism of going out when you are feeling down. Like disco on ice…everything’s nice and anything is possible when the music is right.”
