Payfone: “Paradise”

Payfone: “Paradise”

London-based producer/DJ Payfone, aka Phil Passera, first caught our ears with his much-played debut 12” “International Smark / People” of sublime synthesised disco, which was released last year. Now, he’s back with a three-track EP called “Paradise”, his first release for Phil South’s Golf Channel, which was co-mixed by Sasa Crnobrnia (of In Flagranti fame). Featuring the dubbed out vocals of 21-year-old Louis Howard Jones and New Orleans native Dayna Talley, the EPs title track is a sublime slice of boogie-funk that clocks in at nearly nine minutes. “Paradise” comes accompanied by a self-directed video, which you can watch above.

The “Paradise” 12” is out now on Golf Channel. The release also features the deep cut “Mice Life” and a cover of Black Devil Disco Club’s “Subconscient Lamentation”.
