London-based producer Laurence Guy makes a welcome return with his superb “The Sun Is Warm And Directly Above You” EP, which marks his debut release on UK label Shall Not Fade. On this luscious three-tracker, Laurence takes the listener on a journey of beautiful piano riffs, luscious vocal hooks and laid back, hazy drum sequences.
“This record is a love letter to sampling, there’s something cosmic about being able to express your own feelings through the feelings of others from different eras and points in time. For me, nothing beats the combination of samples and synthesisers and I feel encapsulates this more than any other music I’ve made”, he says.
