Clarens: “Pray”

Clarens: “Pray”

We introduced you to Clarens the project of Senegal-born, France-raised musician and producer Ousseynou Cissé, back in May, sharing his brilliant debut single “Trust”, a “song about lost friendships”, which was also included on Yuksek’s label Partyfine first anniversary compilation. Now, Clarens, who also plays bass for Parisian duo Juveniles, returns to Partyfine with his second single “Pray”, another finely crafted tune with a serious R&B feel to it. The track was produced by Yuksek and Jean-Sylvain Le Gouic (of Juveniles).

“When I arrived in Rennes I was determined to become a musician by any means, not only because it is music that makes me feel alive, but also because music is the only thing I can do properly. I wrote this song as a prayer towards anyone who could help me become the person I am today-I didn’t know at the time that my wish would be fulfilled that fast,” says Clarens. Give “Pray” a spin or two above, and revisit the video for “Trust” here.

Clarens’ new single “Pray” will arrive on November 24th via Partyfine.
