Leon Vynehall is back with a new track, called “I, Cavallo”. Dark, throbbing and intensely infectious, it marks his focus at a dense, and unnerving space. Speaking of the track, Vynehall says: “The new material is directed squarely at soundsystems. Following the introspection of ‘Nothing Is Still’, I turned my gaze towards a more dissonant and psychedelic corner of a dancefloor”.

“I, Cavallo” and it’s “ClubFront” b-side drops on November 22 on 12″ vinyl via Ninja Tune.

Brighton producer Leon Vynehall just dropped a new track “English Oak (Chapter VII)”, the last track before his debut album “Nothing Is Still” is out on June 15th via Ninja Tune. “It’s the sound of a strange dream about falling from the top of the chrysler building in New York…”, he says. Even better, the track comes backed with a great Italo-tinged club remix from Running Back head honcho and Tuff City Kids member Gerd Janson. Blast it above. Just in case you missed it, watch the videos for Leon Vynehall’s “Movements (Chapter III)” and “Envelopes (Chapter VI)” here.

Having already wowed us with his excellent EPs, 2014’s breakthrough “Music For The Uninvited” and 2016’s “Rojus” on Running Back, Brighton producer Leon Vynehall returns with his debut album “Nothing Is Still”, set to drop on June 15th via Ninja Tune. The 10-track record sees him digging deeper into the family history that has always inspired his most iconic tracks, whilst returning to his own musical roots.

“Nothing Is Still” is, at its core, an album dedicated to Vynehall’s grandparents. Emigrating from a leafy south east U.K. to New York City in the 1960s, their seven-day journey via boat from Southampton to Brooklyn, and the stories that followed, have only truly come to light upon the passing of his grandfather four years ago.

The album was written and predominantly performed by Vynehall with additional musicians including a 10-piece string section arranged by Amy Langley, Finn Peters (saxophone and flute), and Sam Beste (piano), who completed the final recording sessions that took place at Konk Studio’s. You can stream the album’s lead single “Envelopes (Chapter VI)” above.

Brighton house producer Leon Vynehall lands on Gerd Janson’s Running Back imprint with his new double 12” “Rojus”, which will drop on April 1st. The record consists of eight tracks of “functional club music, sequenced as if it were a club night, from doors to closing, using samples of these birds of paradise and their habitat.” Our first taste of the forthcoming double-pack comes in the form of “Kiburu’s”, and it’s a great one.

We’ve already heard and saw the video for their latest single “All The Rest Is Noise”, and now Formation, the South London twin brother duo of Matt and Will Ritson, have share another superb track from their upcoming “Under The Tracks” EP. Here’s “Control”, a finely crafted tune that blends pulsating bass, cowbell-infused rhythms and Will’s insouciant vocal delivery. It’s the result of the pair’s first collaboration with Brighton’s house producer Leon Vynehall. “Working with Leon Vynehall has added another layer of inspiration to what we’re doing, bouncing ideas off each other and working in a free and improvised way, laying down what feels good and always surprising each other,” says Matt Ritson.

Formation’s four-track “Under The Tracks” EP drops on November 20th on Meno Records. Pre-order it here.

It always feels good driving around with Leon Vynehall. The last time we heard from Brighton house producer was last summer, then he dropped his sublime “Butterflies/This Is the Place” 12” for Clone’s Royal Oak series. Now, he’s back with his new track “Midnight On Rainbow Road” that has been floating around the web for a while now. Clocking in at nearly seven minutes, the track is nothing but pure bliss, perfect for driving on the Autobahn at 6am. “Midnight On Rainbow Road” is the opening track off the new “Musik For Autobahns 2” compilation, compiled by Running Back head honcho Gerd Janson.

Inspired by many trips on the Autobahn between Frankfurt and Heidelberg, the new compilation features eleven tracks of “ambient race car music”, including contributions from Joy Orbison, Lauer, Fort Romeau, Bicep, Orson Wells, and more. You can preview the whole thing here.

“Musik For Autobahns 2” drops on September 7 on Rush Hour. Pre-order it here.
