The Mary Onettes: “Love’s Taking Strange Ways” [mp3]
Sweden’s The Mary Onettes have recorded a new EP, called “Love Forever”, with Dan Lissvik (ex-Studio), and here’s the first track from the release, the beautiful song “Love’s Taking Strange Ways”. The four-track EP is described as “a wonder of genre-blurring fearlessness drawing on ambient textures, avant-garde rhythms and intricate arrangements. A delicately beautiful collection of songs”. It will be released on February 29th via Labrador Records. Pre-order here.

From the rocks and waves of the west coast of Sweden, Tiedye explores the sounds of dreaming disco, windblowing pop and gruyèresmelling rock. After three years from their debut on Italians Do It Better with the great version of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”, the Swedish duo of Edvin and Anton return to Mike Simonetti’s label, this time with their first ever original track called “Fisherman’s Bend”. The 12” comes with remixes from Studio’s Dan Lissvik and A Mountain Of One and is now available here. Give it a spin below.
The Dan Lissvik gorgeous version of “Fisherman’s Bend” was the epic closer to Italians Do It Better “Solid Gold” compilation, which was released summer 2010. We’ve already posted this one, but here’s again for your downloading pleasure. Enjoy.

Studio’s Dan Lissvik remix the first single “Viljan” by Det Vackra Livet (translated “The Beautiful Life”) from Gothenburg, Sweden. The duo consists of brothers Philip and Henrik Ekström who you might recognise from the band The Mary Onettes. Their self-titled album drops on May 3 via Labrador Records. We like.
