One of our favorite new labels Cascine is one year old today. The label dedicated to “alt-pop and experimental electronic music with a major-key bent” was born last September and its first release was Shine 2009′s “Associates” EP. Now, one year later, the imprint has released nine singles/EPs by artists such as Jensen Sportag, Chad Valley and Southern Shores and two full-length albums by Shine 2009 and Brooklyn-based trio Selebrities. Instead of a piece from the birthday cake, we get and share with you Jensen Sportag’s brilliant remix of Shine 2009′s single “So Free”. The future looks bright.
Southern Shores can take you anywhere. Don’t be afraid to let yourself go and enjoy their excellent debut EP “Atlantic” that carries you away to a beautiful tropical beach. Out on July 12th via Cascine.
Here’s the new single from Oxford’s Chad Valley forthcoming second EP “Equatorial Ultravox” for one of our favourite new labels, Cascine. The “Equatorial Ultravox” EP features seven new tracks full of summery dance-pop vibes and is coming out on June 20th. In one word: Perfect!

Inspired by long taxi rides (yes, we love them), the end of a sharp winter and doing things differently, Finnish Balearic duo Shine 2009, aka Sami Suova and Mikko Pykäri, just dropped their new single “So Free”, featuring Paula Abdul. “So Free” is taken from Shine 2009′s debut album “Realism” (out on May 3 via Cascine) and is now available as a digital download here.
