A few weeks ago, we posted Andy Butler and Mark Pistel’s take on Hercules and Love Affair brand new track “Release Me”, one of the exclusive tracks on their upcoming “DJ-Kicks” mix. Here we have the original version of “Release Me”, featuring the vocals from LA DJ Whitney Fierce, for your listening pleasure. “This song lies somewhere between Stock Aitken and Waterman and Manchester’s Hacienda sound, while Whitney sounds very Bananarama on it. Mark Pistel busted out his E- Max on this recording with some original samples he compiled in 91, so that made us all dance in the studio”, says Andy Butler. Give it a spin above. We like it!

Little Boots caught me by surprise with her new single “Every Night I Say A Prayer”, which was produced by Andy Butler of Hercules & Love Affair. It’s such a great track full of house vibes. For us it’s surely her best work since the release of the single “Stuck On Repeat” in 2008. We hope she keeps walking down that road with her little boots. Wolfram Eckert, aka Wolfram, from Vienna has been on the forefront of the italo disco revival since 2005 with his label Diskokaine and productions under his monikers The Diskokaines or Marflow. As Wolfram he is now releasing his self-titled debut album on March 11th, via Permanent Vacation. The album featuring guest appearances of euro dance legend Haddaway, Holy Ghost!, Hercules and Love Affair, Patrick Pulsinger, Sally Shapiro, Legowelt, Sebastian and former Patrick Cowley protégé Paul Parker. Andy Butler sings with Kim Ann Foxman on the first single ‘Fireworks’. A true electro disco fireworks!

New love affair: After the killer single ‘And I’m (So In Love With You)’, here is the new release on Andy Butler’s new house label Mr. Intl. This time is a collaboration between Andy Butler and his Hercules & Love Affair bandmate Kim Ann Foxman. Together will release the tracks ‘Creature’ and ‘What You Need’ as Mr.Intl. The EP, backed with remixes from Faze Action and James Curd, is coming out on November 1 on Beatport. You can stream the full release below:

“I don’t want anything that sounds pre ’85 or post ’94″. Andy Butler, the mastermind behind Hercules & Love Affair has launched a new record label. It’s called Mr.Intl and draws inspiration from the early days of house and techno. The label’s first single, ‘And I’m (So In Love With You)’, is a collaboration between Butler and SF-via-Detroit house DJ Jason Kendig and it was recorded on 1992-vintage equipment. Soundcheck #7

Κι ενώ περιμένουμε τις πρώτες ακυρώσεις (κατά τ’ άλλα είμαστε αισιόδοξοι) είπαμε να επιστρέψουμε στα soundcheck γιατί τόσο καιρό μας έκαναν οι άλλοι. Και τι κερδίσαμε; Ενα ζευγάρι ωτοασπίδες. Τις βάζουμε και τσεκάρουμε τα “μικρά” live/dj set που θα παίξουν εκεί έξω…

Το live των Au Revoir Simone άλλαξε χώρο. Απο το Myga club πάει Bios (8/6). Βάζω σκούπα στο σαλόνι μου-ποτέ δεν ξέρεις…

Oι BΕΑΚ (το project του Geoff -Portishead- Barrow) τελικά δεν θα synchχρονιστεί. Το κενό, μάλλον, θα έχει χρώμα pink. Kαι είναι μεγάλο!

Για τον κύριο Bonobo είπαμε; Στις 2 Ιουνίου στο Myga Club και στις 3/6 στο Block 33 κάποιος θα “σπάσει” μπαλόνια. Όχι, δεν θα είναι ροζ.

Στις 29 Μαϊου ο Fred Falke θα παίξει στο Block 33. Δεν θα πάει ούτε ο psarianos. Φαντάσου!

Τα gas νέα είναι ότι Αυστραλοί The Swiss καταφθάνουν και εμείς ετοιμαζόμαστε για ‘Bubble Bath’: 10/6 @ Βlock 33, 11/6 @ An club. Όποιος είχε την ιδέα για An club, ας το ξανασκεφτεί. Πάντως, για κάθε ενδεχόμενο (ξανα) βάζω σκούπα στο σαλόνι σου…

Η μικρή μας disco αδυναμία που ακούσει στο όνομα Villa θα ανέβει στα πλατώ του Mojito Bay Beach Bar (20/6). Κρίμα, τότε, λέω να ανέβω στο χωριό.

Την ίδια ώρα (ακριβώς), ο Andy Butler (Hercules and Love Affair) θα κάνει ένα πέρασμα από το Block 33 (20/6). Kαι να τον χάσεις, θα ξαναπαίξει τον επόμενο μήνα…

Για τον Ιούλιο δεν ξέρουμε τίποτα, γι’ αυτό δεν γράφουμε…

Για το φθινόπωρο κάτι πήρε τ’ αυτί μας για Four Tet (μακάρι), Camera Obscura (κλεισμένο), Kings Of Convenience (λες;) και LCD Soundsystem (μεταξύ μας). Ενvοείται, πως θα πάμε σε όλα. Αν είμαστε ακόμη εδώ…
