After dropping his debut EP “+1″ for Cascine all the way back in 2012, Rush Midnight, the solo project of Brooklyn-born Russ Manning, and former bass player for Twin Shadow, makes a welcome return with his brilliant new single “In Your Room” full of late-night funky grooves, which was produced by Jesse F. Keeler of Death From Above 1979.
“In Your Room” is the first taste from Rush Midnight’s forthcoming self-titled LP, which will drop on May 17th via Last Gang Records.

Here we go. It may be the first days of the New Year, but we’re still listening to our favorite albums, tracks, remixes and EPs of 2012. Once more during this year we have been sharing with you tons of free music, and today we’re really excited to reveal La.Ga.Sta.’s Top 40 most downloaded tracks of 2012. This is a chart compiled by our readers, who by the way have great taste. We couldn’t agree more. Breakbot’s “Programme” is top of the list, followed closely by Perseus’ “Seychelles” and Chromatics’ “Kill For Love”. Of course there is more to this list. Who can drive passed beloved artists such as Todd Terje, John Talabot, Poolside, The Magician, Classixx, Moon Boots, among others, or tracks like Slow Hands’ cover of Bon Iver’s “Towers” and Pional’s remix of The Rapture’s “In The Grace Of Your Love”.

Today we share with you his beautiful second single “Crush”, off his upcoming debut solo EP “+1″ on Cascine, which was produced by none other than Twin Shadow. As he says: “I wrote ‘Crush’ after returning from a month in Europe and a few nights in Sao Paolo about one year ago.” says Manning. “Back in New York, springtime was almost over and I remember feeling soo excited to be home, riding my bike, working on new songs, and partying with friends.” As a bonus, you can download Chad Valley’s tasty remix of “The Night Was Young Enough” below. Having spent the last two years playing bass in Twin Shadow, Brooklyn-born Russ Manning, is getting ready to drop his debut solo EP under the moniker Rush Midnight. The five-track ” +1″ EP will be released on October 30th through Cascine, and is said to be inspired by his travels across Europe, Brazil and Australia. Following last year’s excellent EP “Equatorial Ultravox”, Oxford’s Chad Valley has just announced that his debut solo album, entitled “Young Hunger”, is coming out on October 30th via Cascine. According to the label, “Young Hunger” will include guest appearances by Twin Shadow, T.E.E.D., Active Child, El Perro Del Mar, Fixers and Glasser and is about having the fire and strength to realise your intentions. As a taste of things to come, here is the first single, “Fall 4 U”, which features the beautiful vocals of Glasser’s Cameron Mesirow. Give it a spin below.
