Ecuadorian-born, New York-based singer Maria Usbeck, former frontwoman of the band Selebrities, is gearing up for the release of her debut solo LP titled “Amparo”, which was co-produced with Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek. The record is a “collection of songs written and recorded across the span of three years in Ecuador, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Barcelona, Lisbon, Easter Island, Costa Rica, Florida, L.A. and her home in Brooklyn.” It also finds Maria Usbeck singing in her native Spanish for the first time. Our first taste from the album comes in the form of “Moai Y Yo”, a tropical-flavored tune perfect for your next spring rides. Give it a spin above.
The “Amparo” 12” arrives on May 27th via Cascine/Labrador. Pre-order it here.
