The Phenomenal Handclap Band: “Walk The Night” (feat. Peaches)

A few days ago we shared with you Moullinex’s cover of “Maniac”, featuring Peaches on vocals and now you can stream The Phenomenal Handclap Band’s version of Skatt Bros’ 1979 classic “Walk The Night”. In related news, The Phenomenal Handclap Band will drop their second album “Form and Control” on February 13th via for Tummy Touch Records – an “ambitious work which takes their clever fusion of international psych, soul, and cosmic disco a bold step forward”.

Moullinex & Peaches: “Maniac” Video

Here’s the video for Moullinex’s fantastic cover of Michael Sembello’s “Maniac” (from the soundtrack of the movie “Flashdance”), which features Peaches on vocals. Taken from the new “Casablanca Reworks” EP, due January 13th on Gomma. For this project The Gomma All Stars (Moullinex, Telonius, Munk, and The Phenomenal Handclap Band) teamed up with Peaches and did four cover versions of songs from the catalogue of legendary Disco label Casablanca Records. Telonius took care of Donna Summer’s “Our Love”, The Phenomenal Handclap Band made a great cover of the classic “Walk The Night”, originally by the Skatt Brothers, and Stephanie Mills’ “You Can’t Run From My Love“ received a treatment by Munk. Chilly Gonzales’ amazing new single ‘I Am Europe’ is out today on Phantasy Sound. It’s taken from his forthcoming ‘Ivory Tower’ album, out on August 30th, with Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize on production duties. In the meantime, Erol Alkan has reworked ‘Never Stop’ for the dance floor and it’s coming out on September 6th. Can’t wait!

Πάει και το Synch. Τώρα, θα με πας Sonar? Para Nada!

Ένα Φεστιβάλ, δύο ονόματα. Aπο το φετινό Synch κρατάμε την Peaches (καλύτερη performace) και τους Hot Chip (καλύτερο live). Δεν ήρθες; Ας πρόσεχες…

H Peaches περπάτησε πάνω μου, με πάτησε, μ’ έφτυσε, με φώναξε γαμιόλη και λίγο πριν το μ…. της πιάσει φωτιά, ο διπλανός μου μεταμορφώθηκε σε σφουγγαρόπανο…

Hot Chip: To απόλυτο live. Ήταν ακόμη καλύτεροι και από την εμφάνιση τους στο Coachella. Μετά από αυτό, όλα μας φάνηκαν τόσο “τσίπικα”…

Ατάκα: “O Ιησούς περπάτησε πάνω στο νερό. Η Peaches θα περπατήσει πάνω σας…”

Για τα υπόλοιπα live ρωτήστε καλύτερα τον Terrorista. Όλα εγώ θα τα κάνω…

Πως ήταν ο Rufus; Δεν με κλωνοποίησα ακόμα.

Έξω από το Καραϊσκάκη, στο live της Rihanna. “Ρε, παιδιά, πόσο πήγε το ματς;”

Την τελευταία στιγμή ο Busy P ακύρωσε την εμφάνιση του στο Synch. Έγραψε στο Facebook στα ελληνικά (;): Oι φίλοι μου ελληνικός. Δεν μπορώ να έρθω αυτό το βράδυ σε Αθήνα για SYNC. Είμαι θλιβερός και σας υπόσχομαι ότι θα έρθω να σας δω σύντομα. Πιείτε του Ouzo για εμένα!!!

Αύριο (8/6), θα πούμε Au Revoir Simone στο Bios (είσοδος 25 ευρώ). Την Παρασκευή (11/6) θα κάνουμε Bubble Bath στο An Club (δεν έχουμε κι άλλη επιλογή) με τους The Swiss (είσοδος 10 ευρώ). Την Πέμπτη (10/6) θα παίξουν στο Block 33. A! Έχει και Specials.

Να, και ένα ωραίο live για το φθινόπωρο: Οι Camera Obscura τον Οκτώβρη στην Αθήνα!

Επιτέλους live! Έπρεπε να φτάσει ο Απρίλης για να μάθουμε κάποιο live της προκοπής-έχουμε πήξει στην μαλακία και στο repeat! Αν δεν το έχετε ακούσει ήδη οι Hot Chip είναι ένα απο τα μεγάλα ονόματα του Synch 2010 (4, 5 Ιουνίου, Τεχνόπολη). Θα παίξουν στις 5 Ιουνίου (την ίδια ημέρα με τον Rufus Wainwright στο Θέατρο Λυκαβηττού – δεν τρέχει τίποτα). Στις 4 Ιουνίου θα εμφανιστούν και στο Principal Club Theater στην Θεσσαλονίκη. Όχι, παίζουμε. Εν αναμονή, λοιπόν, της ανακοίνωσης του φετινού line up του Synch (λίγες ώρες έμειναν, έχει κι άλλες fuck εκπλήξεις), αυτά είναι τα live μέχρι στιγμής που μας κάνουν vrooommmmm!!!
