French electro producer Kavinsky is finally ready to drop his debut album “Outrun”, and the remixes for his latest single “ProtoVision” (watch the video here) just keep coming. Here we have Blood Orange’s, otherwise known as Dev Hynes, superb rework of the track, which features vocals from Lou Hayter (The New Sins, Tomorrow’s World). The “ProtoVision” EP also includes remixes by Boys Noize, Sébastien Tellier, and STS. You can pre-order your copy of the vinyl here.
Kavinsky’s album “Outrun” arrives on February 25th via Record Makers.

Nicolas Winding Refn’s white knuckle thriller “Drive”, one of our most highly anticipated movies for the rest of the year, gets a proper soundtrack release. The soundtrack features Cliff Martinez’s original score as well as Kavinsky’s “Night Call”, Desire’s “Under Your Spell”, College’s “A Real Hero” (feat. Electric Youth) and Chromatics’ epic track “Tick Of The Clock”, which runs over 15 minutes! The OST will be available digitally on September 6th. Kavinsky’s remix of SebastiAn’s new single “Embody” is out now. Grab your copy here. SebastiAn’s 22-song debut album “Total” drops on May 30th on Ed Banger. The record features guest appearances by M.I.A., Mayer Hawthorne and Gaspard Augé of Justice.

After the remix contest for ‘Nightcall’, Kavinsky has just launched a fan art contest, allowing graphic designers and illustrators to contribute their interpretations of Kavinsky’s zombie universe. 50 illustrations will be chosen from the entrants and included in a limited edition book. The winning design will take pride of place on the front cover.
The contest will run until December 31st. Submit your entry HERE.
In other news, Kavinsky is currently putting the final touches on his full-length album, due out in March 2011 via Record Makers. Produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo of Daft Punk.
