Once more during this year we have been sharing with you tons of free music, and today we’re really excited to reveal La.Ga.Sta.’s Top 40 most downloaded tracks of 2012. This is a chart compiled by our readers, who by the way have great taste. We couldn’t agree more. Breakbot’s “Programme” is top of the list, followed closely by Perseus’ “Seychelles” and Chromatics’ “Kill For Love”. Of course there is more to this list. Who can drive passed beloved artists such as Todd Terje, John Talabot, Poolside, The Magician, Classixx, Moon Boots, among others, or tracks like Slow Hands’ cover of Bon Iver’s “Towers” and Pional’s remix of The Rapture’s “In The Grace Of Your Love”.

Gypsy & The Cat: “Bloom”
Melbourne’s Gypsy & The Cat will put out their second album, “The Late Blue”, on October 19th (Australia) through their own label Alsatian Music. We’ve already share with you the video for the lead single “Sorry” (watch it here), and here’s their new single “Bloom”, an infectious, driving track, which you can grab for free below. It was produced by the band and mixed by Dave Fridmann, the man on the board for the likes of MGMT, Tame Impala and The Flaming Lips.

Aussie duo Gypsy & The Cat, Xavier Bacash & Lionel Towers, return with their infectious pop tune “Sorry”, and now you can watch the official video, directed by Krozm. “Sorry” is the first taste from the duo’s upcoming second album, which is expected to be released later this year. The single is out on August 17th via Alsatian Music.

Back in February, we featured the debut “Opus Label One” compilation, and now it’s time for the second installement. On July 10th, the Los Angeles-based label Opus, run by Miguel Angel Jiménez and Jeremy Wineberg, will release “Opus Label Two”, a 12-track compilation featuring great tracks from Metronomy, Gypsy & The Cat, Jensen Sportag, The Whip, Young Empires, and more. Melbourne-born, London-based duo Gypsy & The Cat – better known as Xavier Bacash and Lionel Towers – will release their debut album, ‘Gilgamesh’, on October 22th in Australia. Taking their name from a children’s storybook, they started making dreamy tunes in a garage in Melbourne two years ago. Few months ago they release their amaing debut single ‘Time to Wander’ on Young and Lost. There are no gypsies and there are no cats, just beautiful songs!
