Hola! Friendly Fires have announced full details of their new album, “Pala”. The follow-up to their 2008 self-titled debut will be released on May 16 on XL Recordings and it will be preceded by the single “Live Those Days Tonight”. The album is named after the island in Aldous Huxley’s 1962 novel “Island”, and has been produced by the band themselves and producer, Paul Epworth. “Live Those Days Tonight” will be previewed on their website tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Friendly Fires have mixed the next Suck My Deck compilation for the Bugged Out crew. Their Suck My Deck mix is a “seamless autumn party-smashing mix of electro, disco, house and techno slammers both young and old”, and includes an exclusive collaboration between Friendly Fires and Toronto house crew Azari & III, entitled ‘Stay Here’. Written exclusively for this compilation, it’s a stunning fusion of classic house beats, spoken vocals from the band and a belting chorus from Macfarlane, with Azari & III providing the verse.
