A few months ago, Sydney-based producer/DJ Frames caught our ears with his superb three-track “Pacifique” EP on Sweat It Out Music. Now, Frames is revisiting the EPs title track, a rework of Deep Forest’s “Pacifique” in collaboration with fellow Aussie producer Felix Lloyd, with a strong remix package that freshens up the smooth, tropical-flavored tune. Perfect timing for those long summer rides.

Today, we’re delighted to bring you the exclusive premiere of Sydney’s Polographia brilliant remix of Frames & Felix Lloyd’s “Pacifique” for your listening pleasure. On their remix, the rising duo of Moktar Youngblood and Daniel Finn, injects the original’s sound with an extra dose of lush vibes. The result is a colorful blast of sunlight and warm, playful steel drums, and rhythmic punch. Give it a spin or two above.

The “Pacifique” Remix EP will drop on July 18th via Sweat It Out Music. The release also features remixes by the likes of Moonbase Commander, Murat Kilic and the “Osaka” version. You can pre-order your copy here.

This infectious dance-pop tune filled with sun-soaked tropical grooves is bound to brighten anyone’s day.

Lancelot

Meet Lance Gurisik, a 21-year-old talented producer from Sydney, Australia, who goes by the name of Lancelot. Recently signed to Binary Records, Lancelot is ready to drop his debut EP “We Can Dance” on February 20th, with three groovy dance tracks and remixes by Goldroom, Fabian, Frames and Moonchild. Lots of feel good summer vibes. You may already heard Goldroom’s remix of the title track in The Magician’s latest magic tape. Today, Lancelot pulled over at La.Ga.Sta. for a little chat ahead of his Binary debut. Check out the interview below and make sure you grab his track “Spoken Word”, the first taste from the EP, a beautiful tune to make you count the days till summer.

What made you decide to turn to music in the first place?
I have always enjoyed music since I was a little kid however, I never seriously pursued it until I was about 16, when one of my close friends taught me how to play Dammit (Blink 182) on guitar. Something happened to me that day that has stuck with me ever since. My ambitions to become a professional baseball player at a sports high school faded away quickly, as my new interests were in learning every single guitar tab that ever existed! Things have turned 360 degrees since my humble adolescent beginnings – I just finished my Honours Degree in a Bachelor of Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, I’m writing music for films, producing and performing all my own music and music of others as well. The best part is, I still feel like the kid playing the opening riff to Dammit when I was 16. I will never let music feel like work to me.

What has influenced you the most?
The music that has influenced me spans from the very beginning stages of electronic music, when Pierre Schaeffer and Karlheinz Stockhausen were first experimenting with music concréte and electronic music and pioneering techniques that producers use till this day, up until the present with living prophets of electronic music like The Chemical Brothers.

Five words to describe Lancelot…
Low carb.
Lactose free.
High in Omega 3 and Iron.
33% daily intake of Protein.
Too many listens may cause a Laxative Effect.

Which are your favorite tracks at the moment?
Moon Boots – Aretha
Todd Terje – Inspector Norse
Friendly Fires – Hurting (Tensnake Dub Remix)
Lancelot – We Can Dance (Frames Remix)
Julio Bashmore – Battle For Middle You
Perseus – Running Back to You

Which is your favourite destination?
Well…I haven’t seen that much yet but so far – Japan! Would love to see Europe!

What excites you in today’s Australian music scene?
Softwar, Canyons and that Flume guy.

What are your plans for 2012?
Tour this EP – Finish and release my 2nd EP – Go to L.A. to meet my label guys over at Binary – Produce more music for others – Get a Lancelot live show underway – Do a nude run on the set of Young Talent Time because its a JOKE – Learn Italian so I can actually have a conversation with my Nonna – Enter the next Amazing Race show with my mum.

Download the track “Spoken Word” here. Below, you can grab Lancelot’s latest remix of Matt Corby’s “Brother”. Do it.
