CANT – The Edge

“The Edge” is one of the standout tracks from Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor solo debut album “Dreams Come True” under the moniker of CANT. The album will be released on September 13th through his own Terrible Records label in North America, and Warp Records elsewhere. The new record is a collaboration with George Lewis Jr. of Twin Shadow, whose debut album “Forget” was produced by Chris Taylor.

Blood Orange – Dinner

Dev Hynes of Lightspeed Champion and Test Icicles has a new project which is called Blood Orange. His debut 7″ single, “Dinner” b/w “Bad Girls” is out today on Terrible Records. Both tracks were recorded with and co-produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. Blood Orange’s full-length album will be released later this summer on Domino.

We’ve posted about George Lewis Jr., the man behind the moody synth-pop Twin Shadow, many times before. His debut album,’Forget’, produced by Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear) is playing in our gas stereo all week. We really love it. Lewis describes the album as “bedroom-recorded music, but it’s been done with the same attention as many classic B-movies.” In other words it’s certainly worth checking out. Here’s the opening track ‘Tyrant Destroyed’ to get you in the mood:

Jamie Lidell: ‘Compass’

Jamie Lidell returns this year with his new album ‘Compass’, out on May 18th via Warp. The follow up to 2008′s ‘Jim’ was recorded in Los Angeles, New York and Canada and features contributions from Feist, Beck, Gonzales, Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear and Pat Sansone of Wilco. First taste, the track “Compass”, sounds like nothing Lidell has done before. Listen Carefully…

Σήμερα, κυνηγάει την σκιά του, δημιουργεί απολαυστικά synth pop κομμάτια και πλέον ανήκει στο δυναμικό του label Terrible Records (έχει πάρει τα πάνω του) του Chris Taylor των Grizzly Bear. Μια χαρά!
