“The only way to stand out is to find tracks that people have forgotten about, music which is off the beaten track.” It’s been seven years since Erol Alkan released his first Bugged Out Mix, and now he returns with another two-disc mix for the Bugged Out series, fittingly titled “Another Bugged Out Mix/Another Bugged In Selection”. “His ‘Bugged Out’ mix is an exhilarating document, club music at it’s most urgent and irresistible, the ‘Bugged In’ selection is after hour sounds at their most dreamlike”, according to the press release. The closing track from the “Bugged Out” mix is Erol Alkan’s unreleased version of his stunning rework of Connan Mockasin’s “Forever Dolphin Love” – one of our favorite tracks of 2011. You can now stream the new extended rework below. Forever amazing!

“Another Bugged Out Mix/Another Bugged In Selection” will be released on September 3rd via !K7 Records.

Friendly Fires mix Suck My Deck

August 17th, 2010

Friendly Fires have mixed the next Suck My Deck compilation for the Bugged Out crew. Their Suck My Deck mix is a “seamless autumn party-smashing mix of electro, disco, house and techno slammers both young and old”, and includes an exclusive collaboration between Friendly Fires and Toronto house crew Azari & III, entitled ‘Stay Here’. Written exclusively for this compilation, it’s a stunning fusion of classic house beats, spoken vocals from the band and a belting chorus from Macfarlane, with Azari & III providing the verse. Also featured are tracks from Tensnake, Munk, Bot’Ox, Aeroplane, Joe Goddard’s 2 Bears and Tom Trago, among others. Here’s the radio rip of the amazing ‘Stay Here’. Better than nothing!
