The first official release from Blood Orange, aka Dev Hynes (who also records as Lightspeed Champion), was the “Dinner” 7″ (grab it here) release on Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor Terrible Records. Now Blood Orange has announced that he will release his debut album “Coastal Grooves” on August 8th via Domino Records. You can now enjoy the first taste from the album, the track “Sutphin Boulevard”, below:

Two 12″s of remixes will be made available upfront of the album release. Remix Part 1will be released on June 6th featuring remixes by In Flagranti and Krystal Klear. Remix Part 2 follows on the July 11th with reworkings by Bottin and Bicep. Pre-order Remix Part 1 here.

On May 30th, Nang Records will release a second “From The Stars” compilation, based once again on covers of songs from sci-fi soundtracks by nu-disco acts. For this release, the Italian producers Bottin and Rodion did a cheeky and funny cover of the closing song of the popular Italian RAI cartoon “Goldrake” (or sometimes called “Atlas UFO Robot”). It’s called “Shooting Star” and it will be released on a 12″ single with extended and dub versions plus a Toomy Disco driving remix. Here’s the short spacey version for your listening pleasure.
