Throughout 2011 we have been offering you lots of free music. Here is La.Ga.Sta.’s most downloaded tracks of the year. It’s no surprise that Magician’s remix of Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers” is top of the list. A huge remix that you can still hear coming out loud from the car stereos. There are some great tunes in there as well, from Rapture, M83 and Washed Out to Mylo, Discodeine, and Poolside. Not to mention Villa’s take on Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” – another exclusive track from La.Ga.Sta. This is your Top 20 chart. Fill it up (one more time) and enjoy the ride.

Today we ‘Rolling In The Deep’ with our favorite Belgium duo Villa of Fredo and Thang. First came some tasty edits and the remixes for Moby, Keane and The Golden Filter. Then endorsments from the likes of Erol Alkan and Aeroplane, a few festival slots and high profile club bookings. But still in back end of 2010, Villa was still a project into its growing pains. Originally rooted from the DJ partnership of Ghent duo Thang & Fredo, it wasn’t until the former spend some time in the home studio of his long-time buddy Francois Demeyer that the definite shape of Villa is drawn up.
While Thang’s well developing DJ ambitions took him elsewhere, Francois followed his own path – which lead to being part of the line up of Belgian’s fashion darlings Vive La Fête, hooking up with The Glimmers for Disko Drunkards and crafting soulful poptunes with his own band Soapstarter. Now, the decades long club experience from Thang, matched with multi-instrumentalist Francois’ well honed studio skills are a match made in disco heaven! “Disco is at the core of Villa”, says Francois, “Although we’d love to coin the phrase ‘hyper-disco’!” Villa are currently working on a debut EP, but first they unleash a bundle of impressive remixes. After their rework of The Human League’s ‘Night People’ (grab it here), here’s their anthemic take on Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ in full 320kbps quality exclusive on La.Ga.Sta. Keep your eye on the sky.

After their killer remixes of Digitalism’s ‘Blitz’ and The Human League’s new single ‘Night People’ last month, now Villa delivers another banging remix. This time for Sunday Girl’s catchy new single ‘Stop Hey’, due out on January 16th. Our favourite band won’t stop doing remixes. In fact they are currently working on new remixes for Yeasayer and Adele. Good for us. Stream their new remix now!
