Sinkane: “Runnin'”

Sinkane is the project of Sudanese-born musician Ahmed Gallab, who was the drummer in the touring lineups of Yeasayer, Caribou, and Of Montreal. His summer funky jam “Runnin'” is the first release on London’s Phonica Records new series “Special Editions”. The EP features two fine reworks of the tune by Daphni (Dan Snaith of Caribou fame) and Chandeliers. Sinkane is currently working on a new 12″ single to follow this summer. His new LP, entitled “Mars”, will be released in the fall via DFA.
