The last time we heard from Melbourne-based producer/DJ Mike Gamwell, aka Knightlife, was late last year, when he contributed the track “Don’t Stop” to Cut Copy’s excellent “Oceans Apart” compilation. Now, he’s back with a brand-new track called “Heavy Down”, the first taste from his upcoming four-track “VII” EP, set to arrive in August on Cutters Records. Somewhat minimal and more stripped back than Knightlife’s previous releases, “Heavy Down” finds him still operating in top form. Blast it above.
Knightlife is also touring with Cut Copy’s Dan Whitford & Tim Hoey through July in the US.
