James Murphy: “Remixes Made With Tennis Data”

James Murphy recently teamed with technology company IBM to turn real-time data from this year’s US Open tennis matches into music. The former LCD Soundsystem frontman has created 400 hours of sound from raw data taken from machines at the matches, using an algorithm. “I’m not writing music. I’m generating probabilities for music,” he said. Now, James Murphy has shared a free-to-download album called “Remixes Made With Tennis Data”, a collection of 12 remixes from those original tracks.
