VHS or Beta: “Eyes Dub” [mp3]

VHS or Beta just released a dub version of their 2011 full-length album, “Diamonds & Death”, on Krian Music Group. Produced by the amazing Jacques Renault and Mark Verbos, “Diamonds & Dub” contains seven of the original album’s nine tracks and sounds pretty good. Richard Norris, aka The Time And Space Machine, who has just released his second album “Taste The Lazer”, works his magic on Saint Etienne’s new track “Heading For The Fair”. The result is a big Balearic tune with a gorgeous piano breakdown that clocks in at almost eight minutes. It’s taken from the deluxe edition of Saint Etienne’s new album, “Words And Music”, their first in seven years. The release also includes reworks by Erol Alkan, The 2 Bears, The Golden Filter, Kisses, Beat Connection, Summer Camp, amongst others. Out on May 21 via Universal.

Luke Abbott is ready to drop his first original material in two years on Gold Panda’s Notown imprint, and here’s the lead cut from the EP, “Modern Driveway”, that has been stuck on repeat in our car stereo. Melbourne-via-Capetown five piece synth-pop band Clubfeet return with their first original material since their debut album, “Gold On Gold”, released in 2010. Check out their new summery jam “City Of Light”, which comes backed with b-side “This Time”. The band is currently working on their sophomore album with producer Victor Van Vugt, due out in late 2012.
