Swedes do it better. Stockholm-based musician Per Magnanimous, formerly of The Sonnets, returns under his Sportsman guise with this fragile cover of Taylor Swift’s “Begin Again”, which was produced by fellow Swedish producer and frequent collaborator HNNY. Give it a spin above, and drive slow.

In Sportsman’s own words: “I was in my car driving with HNNY. It was winter. We were on an island on the east coast of Sweden. We were listening to this song. I love Taylor and this is my favourite. It’s always being played like a film in front of me. I love that it takes place in a café and the story… Being kind of fucked over and saved by someone new. Johan [Cederberg, HNNY] said it sounds like a Sportsman song. He thought I should make a cover. What’s past is past.”

There’s no better way to kick off the week than with a nostalgic, synth-pop ride all the way back in the late ’80s. This week in 1987, British glam-pop duo Scarlet Fantastic entered the UK charts with their single “No Memory” that quickly became an anthem for Andrew Weatherall at Boy’s Own legendary acid house parties. Now, twenty-seven years later, Jerry Bouthier’s label Continental Records is revisiting that long-forgotten ’80s hit by releasing not one, but two strong remix packages that bring back so many good memories.

Today, we’re delighted to premiere the first remix package of Scarlet Fantastic’s “No Memory”, which features fresh interpretations from the likes of Australian disco producer Luke Million (of The Swiss fame), hot new London duo Monday Club, and Freegard & Freegard. Once again, our beloved Luke Million delivers a superb version of “No Memory” in his signature style, replete with some deliciously retro synths, while Monday Club take the cult classic into late-night house territory with their finely crafted remix. The EP also includes an acoustic rain version of “No Memory” by Mighty K, the project of Maggie K de Monde with Mark Leaf. Stream the whole thing above and grab a free download of Luke Million remix below, exclusively on La.Ga.Sta. Enjoy the ride.

Download Luke Million’s remix of “No Memory” here.

The “No Memory ’14″ Remixes EP is out now digitally on Continental Records. Buy it here.

It’s time for “Rerotica”. What our Friday nights would be like without some darkly sensual, slow-burning disco grooves and familiar lyrics that bring back so many good memories. Rising Israeli producer Moscoman, who is currently based in Berlin, surely knows the deal. He rides a “Dark Horse” and shows us how he does it right with “Rerotica”, a late-night dancefloor heater featuring vocals from the man himself. The track appears on his new “Dark Horse” EP of four quality tunes on Cosmo Vitelli’s label Cliché, which follows his self-titled debut EP, released last year on the same label. Give “Rerotica” a few spins above, and preview the whole thing here.

The “Dark Horse” EP is out now on vinyl via I’m a Cliché, while the digital version will come out on October 27th. Pick up your 12” here. As a bonus, you can grab a free download of Moscoman’s unreleased edit, his contribution to the label’s excellent “Edit Service” series.

London-via-Leeds duo of Lawrence Gale Hayes and Louis Greenwood, aka Wayward, keep the warm vibes going with “Baile”, one of our favorite cuts from their recently released debut “Ugetsu” EP, a collection of six well-crafted tunes full of soulful, Balearic vibes. Enough to bring back summer in the heart of autumn. The EP, which also includes collaborations with Elderbrook and Michele Chiavarini, is out now digitally on Black Butter Records.

Stream the whole thing here and make sure to check out the video for Wayward’s blissfully chilled track “Belize”, featuring vocals from Beth Aggett, below. Directed by the Madbury Club, the clip was filmed in the beautiful and crystal blue waters of the track’s namesake. Way to go!

London-based singer Kelly Lee Owens may not be a name that sounds familiar to many of you, but we have a pretty strong intuition that’s about to change. She has already contributed vocals to three songs on Daniel Avery’s excellent debut album “Drone Logic”, used to play bass for UK indie pop outfit The History of Apple Pie, and now Kelly Lee Owens dropped her debut solo track, the wonderfully ethereal “Lucid”, which was co-produced with Phantasy Sound’s Ghost Culture. It’s certainly a promising start for the talented singer. Give “Lucid” a spin above and drive slow.
