London-via-Belfast production duo Bicep, aka Andy Ferguson and Matthew McBriar, keep the old-school vibes going with “Lyk Lyk”, an ace tune from their new four-track EP of the same name, which marks the pair’s fourth release on their own Feel My Bicep label. The “Lyk Lyk” EP of all-new material finds Bicep collaborating with close friend and blog partner Rory Hamilton, aka Hammer, for the first time. “We are big fans of freestyle and old Baltimore club tracks, starting off with a broken 808 we began jamming together chopping vocals and melodies live, in our heads keeping it fun but rough,” says Bicep. Update: Below, you can also stream Bicep and Hammer’s collaborative tune “Day 3″.

The “Lyk Lyk” EP will drop on October 6th via Feel My Bicep. Pre-order your 12” here.

This week saw the big return of LA’s Oliver, the dynamic duo of Vaughn “U-Tern” Oliver and Oliver “Oligee” Goldstein, on Fool’s Gold Records. After last year’s superb “Mechanical” EP, their first release for the label, the pair has delivered a new EP called “Light Years Away” that features two wicked tracks, “Light Years Away” and “Fast Forward”, of low-slung bass grooves and electro-funk synths. “It’s the soundtrack to Neil deGrasse Tyson’s first ayahuasca experience if he was 20-years-old and played keyboards in a funk band. It’s also about leaving things behind on earth and not looking back,” Vaughn Oliver told Billboard. And just like most of Oliver’s previous releases, this one too sounds better while driving fast. Speed it up.

Oliver’s two-track EP “Light Years Away” is out now via Fool’s Gold. Buy it here.

It’s certainly been quite some time since we last heard from Los Angeles-based synth-dance duo YACHT, comprised of Jona Bechtolt & Claire L. Evans, but now they’re back in action with their delicious new single “Where Does This Disco?”, which marks the pair’s first release on their brand-new label, Downtown Records. According to YACHT: “Where Does This Disco? is about love and compact discs. They’re both on the edge of becoming obsolete, and they both get scratched if you play them too hard. They’re both mirrors, but one is still the best medium we have for connecting with each other.”

The single “Where Does This Disco?”, which comes backed with a remix by Jerome LOL, who also operates as one half of DJ Dodger Stadium, is out now digitally via Downtown Records. Get it here.
