Back in May, Boston duo Soul Clap took us for a funktastic ride with their “In Da Kar” EP, a collaborative effort with Funkadelic legend George Clinton and funk god Sly Stone. Described by the pair itself as “one of the most significant moments of our adventure”, the four-track record, includes a mix of “First Ya Gotta Shake The Gate”, the title track of 2014’s Funkadelic album, their first in 33 years, the dancefloor jam “Peep This”, featuring Nick Monaco, G Koop and Greg Paulus, plus two remixes of “In Da Kar” from FSQ and EFUNK.

Today, we’re delighted to share with you an unreleased dub version of Funkadelic and Soul Clap’s collaborative tune “In Da Kar”, featuring Sly Stone on keys, by FSQ. You can now download FSQ’s deliciously funky “Miami” dub version of the track for absolutely free, exclusively on La.Ga.Sta. Grab it below, and get “In Da Kar”!

San-Francisco’s PillowTalk, a trio of all thing deep, funky and soulful, delivers a fine re-rub of Leonard Cohen’s “Nevermind”, a song that soundtracks True Detective’s season 2 opening credits and first appeared on his 2014 album “Popular Problems”. You can grab a free download of this rework for a limited time below. In their own words: “We knew right away that we wanted to play around with this mix. It’s very haunting and soulful all at once. The baseline carries it through these realms rather smoothly. Leonard’s spoken word over his crooning back up vocalists harkens back to Lou Reed’s “Walk on The Wild Side.”
