Meet Pluto Jonze. The Sydney-based newcomer singer/songwriter Lachlan Nicholson, aka Pluto Jonze, is ready to drop his debut self-titled EP on May 6th through Stop Start/EMI. With his EP mixed by Tony Espie (The Avalanches, Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts), first single “Meet You Under Neon” remixed by Cadillac and Jinja Safari, and support slots for the likes of The Jezabels, Buck 65, Guineafowl and Dappled Cities already under his ever widening belt, all evidence is that the stars are coming into alignment for Pluto Jonze in 2011. Jordan Koplowitz and Reed Juenger met in summer 2008 in that first youthful flush of “hey wait, I don’t live with my parents anymore…” and began making some late-summer-appropriate house beats in Garageband. Now the Seattle-based duo Beat Connection are set to release their 8-track debut mini-album, “Surf Noir”, on April 11th via Moshi Moshi’s sub-label Tender Age. It is sometimes pop music, sometimes dance music and entirely electronic. Their first brilliant single “Silver Screen” (watch the video here) will be featured on the forthcoming Kitsuné Maison compilation “The Indie-Dance Issue”. Our new Gasolini (aka artist to watch) is Leno Lovecraft. Leno is from New Zealand, and now lives in Paris. His debut 6-track EP will be released on April 25th on Parisian label Maman and takes influences from 80s, funk and Italo-Disco. Computer Magic is the solo project of 21-year-old Danielle ‘Danz’ Johnson and it was created in the winter of 2010 in Brooklyn. After offered up cassettes and EPs for free via her website, Computer Magic is ready to drop her first proper release. Her new self-titled 12” contains four songs and is coming out in limited edition white vinyl on March 15th through White Iris. We know almost nothing about the LA-based young producer Plastic Plates. But we really like his remixes, which make us want to throw a party with plastic plates! The last months he delivered remixes for many artists such as Midnight Juggernauts, Empire Of The Sun, Sia and I Blame Coco. His latest remix of Body Language’s track ‘Social Studies’ sounds pretty amazing and was included in The Magician’s ‘Magic Tape 8′. Meet RÜFÜS, a new three piece band from Sydney, Australia. They just have released their 6-track self-titled debut EP ‘RÜFÜS’ on their own indie label, Monekeleon and they are planning a club version of their track ‘We Left’ with remixes by SymbolOne, Go Go Bizkitt!, Broke One, Beaumont, Springflower, Monsieur Adi and Ride the Universe, due out later this year on French disco/electro label On The Fruit Records.
