Seams is 21-year-old James Welch from the leafy suburbs of southern England. His brand new 12” ‘Nightcycles’ will be released on 26th April via Tough Love Records with remixes bu the likes of Dam Mantle, Shells, Becoming Real, and d’Eon. The track is inspired by the freedom of 3 a.m. bike rides on deserted roads, and is constructed primarily from samples taken from an 90’s Elliott Smith documentary.One to watch!

The Vanish

The Vanish came about in 2008 when two long-time friends, Mike Elmgreen and Pete Enestrom, decided to re-create their days playing in punk bands growing up in Australia. Now based out of New York City, The Vanish recently signed to UK Label, Eye Industries, after capturing the attention of the blog world in 2009. Their debut release is ‘Hold On’ backed with stunning mixes from Russ Chimes, Gemini Club & The Vanish. Vrooommmm!!!

Μήνας μπαίνει, μήνας βγαίνει (καλό μήνα είπαμε;) κι εσύ ακόοομα να αποκτήσεις δίπλωμα, πηγαίνεις με οτοστόπ στη δουλειά μέσω Λαμίας (καλά να πάθεις), σέρνεσαι και σου φαίνεται και κάνεις ότι δεν συμβαίνει τίποτα (συμβαίνει κάτι;), στέλνοντας φιλιά στον αέρα. Αυτά που πιάνουν ο Jesse Kivel και η Zinzi Edmundson και τα κάνουν τραγούδια στο ρετρό σαλόνι τους, όταν δεν ακούνε με μανία παλιές ηχογραφήσεις του Alec R. Constandinos και δεν μυρίζουν σελίδες ταξιδιωτικών οδηγών. Οι δύο τους είναι οι Kisses, μας έρχονται κατευθείαν από το Los Angeles και έφτιαξαν ένα έξοχο ντεμπούτο, το ‘The Heart of the Nightlife’, που θα το λιώσεις το καλοκαίρι, πίνοντας βερμούτ στην βεράντα. Ήδη οι φαν του Jens Lekman φιλιούνται στο στόμα από χαρά. Ναι, αυτό είναι Gasolini για φίλημα!

Diamond Rings is a creative outlet for Toronto based artist and musician John O’ Regan. After releasing the bedroom pop “All Yr Songs” last year, now he has a new 7” coming out on March 9th via German record label Tomlab. The A-side track “Wait & See” (the B-side is an unlikely cover of Sebodah’s “On Fire”) features distorted guitars and a catchy chorus featuring backing vocals from Toronto based indie-pop star Gentleman Reg. Diamond Rings is currently mixing his debut album, “Special Affections”. Watch the fun video for “Wait & See” and grab “All Yr Songs” below. It’s time for blue eye shadow, 80s pop and black spandex…

Τρομερή φιγούρα! Πριν βρεθεί στη Νέα Υόρκη με το ψευδώνυμο Τwin Shadow, o μυστήριος George Lewis Jr. κυνηγούσε τα φαντάσματα του David Bowie και του Lou Reed στους δρόμους του Βερολίνου. Σήμερα, κυνηγάει την σκιά του, δημιουργεί απολαυστικά synth pop κομμάτια και πλέον ανήκει στο δυναμικό του label Terrible Records (έχει πάρει τα πάνω του) του Chris Taylor των Grizzly Bear. Μια χαρά! Έχεις δύο επιλογές: Ή θα φουσκώσεις μπαλόνια (μόνο κίτρινα) ή θα φτιάξεις κάστρα στο χιόνι. Εκτός πάλι, αν είσαι too busy, κυνηγώντας τη σκιά σου…

Meet Mustang : The newest shooting stars of the Belgian scene after Soulwax, Glimmers and Aeroplane. Mustang are Renaud Deru & Andy Faisca. Both are fans of old Italo Disco’s spectral sounds but also fans of Pink Floyd, The Human League, The Beach Boys and a lot of current nu-disco shit. DJing under the name of as Cosy Mozzy, being art directors of Brussels’ club Dirty Dancing and creating a fame for mixing up classix house, disco and boogie in a very special way. Now, Mustang boys are the new kids on the Gomma board and will release their debut EP “Chameleon Circus” on February 5th.
The buzz is already starting. And their future looks bright!

Slice & Soda

Slice & Soda is a colllaboration between the French producer Jean-Baptiste de Laubier aka Para One and disco singer San Serac. They first met back in 2007 and two years, seven flights and countless espressos later, the pair had an album which will be released later this year on Institubes. What we have is a record of many styles tied together by San Serac’s voice, oscillating between Byrne and Bowie, and sounds like Gasoline fire! Here’s the amazing track “Year Of The Dragon”. Malachai is a duo from Bristol. They aren’t part of a scene, but they reflect the Bristol vibe these days: dubstep running through their bones, hip hop in their fingers, and ‘60s psychedelia in their hearts. It’s only right, then, that Portishead mastermind Geoff Barrow has a thumb in this project. Barrow’s a kind of a mentor for Malachai and released the album on his own Invada imprint. “There’s no Bristol ’scene’ as such but there’s a lot of people making music here so heads know to produce something unique”, says Gee. “In this industry, you’re supposed to choose your weapon and keep in your lane, but the last thing I want to do is repeat myself”. Have a listen and download the brilliant single “Fading World” below from Malachai’s debut LP “Ugly Side of Love” on April 19th.

Καλά κρυμμένο μυστικό της dance σκηνής του Σίδνεϊ, οι Softwar, φτάνουν στο πρατήριο μας ως το επόμενο “καυτό” gasolini που φαίνεται πως θα απασχολήσει τους επόμενους μήνες του 2010. Κολλητοί των Holy Ghost!, Aeroplane και Classixx (δεν έχουμε καλύτερο) έχουν ήδη μιξάρει το “Paper Romance” των Groove Armada (δεν το λες κακό), ενώ το πρώτο original κομμάτι τους με τίτλο “Colour Flight’ θα κάνει ντεμπούτο στη νέα συλλογή “Gildas & Masaya Tokyo” της Kitsune. Το νέο disco remix που έκαναν για το ”Undercover Martyn” των Two Door Cinema Club μας κέρδισε αμέσως. Ετσι κι εμείς, τους  φουλάρουμε με τζάμπα βενζίνη μέχρι να σκάσει το επόμενο. Κατά τ’ άλλα Γκράμι-σε τα!
