Finnish Balearic duo Shine 2009 (aka Sami Suova and Mikko Pykäri) will release their 4-track debut EP, ‘Associates’, on September 6th via Cascine, the new label of Service dedicated to “alt-pop and experimental electronic music with a major-key bent”. Shine 2009 are making music that draws inspiration from ’90s pop and their debut album is expected to be released in early 2011. Get ready for the new rules…

The Naked & Famous from New Zealand have caused a big buzz with their summer anthem ‘Young Blood’. Their sound remind us a lot of Passion Pit, which is totally not a bad thing. Now, Neon Gold Records will release their “favorite track of the year” backed with new remixes by the likes of The Sound of Arrows (can’t wait), Pink Ganter, Chiddy Bang and more. Το νέο μας gasolini πίνει σαμπάνια, κλείνει το μάτι στην pop των ’80s και είναι riot. Δεν γνωρίζουμε κατά πόσο με το συγκεκριμένο περιέργο όνομα μπορεί κάποιος να κάνει καριέρα. Αυτό που ξέρουμε, όμως, είναι ότι οι Champagne Riot, το ντουέτο των Caspar Bock και Anders Reuter από την Δανία, φτιάχνουν pure pop να την πιείς στο ποτήρι κι ας αφήνει στο τέλος μια πικρή γεύση στο στόμα. Μελοδραματικά (όσο πρέπει) και απολαυστικά (βάλε ένα ποτήρι παραπάνω) τα τραγούδια των Champagne Riot υμνούν την ‘Ingrid Bergman’, θεραπεύουν τις ραγισμένες καρδιές και λειτουργούν ως αντίδοτο στις μαύρες ημέρες που ζούμε. Μεταξύ μας, δεν πινούμε σαμπάνια, αλλά μας αρέσει η pop ειδικά όταν είναι riot. Άκου τα δύο τελευταία τους κομμάτια – περιμένουμε περισσότερα. Είναι κερασμένα από εμάς…
