2009 brings 3 more new artists that you should pay attention to…

Jonathan Boulet
Another crazy Aussie guy? Absolutely not. The 20-year-old trobadour Jonathan Boulet sounds unique in his own way. He just released his self-titled debut album in Evident Records full of folk-pop melodies and songs he wrote with handmade ingredients. Listen to his track “A Community Service Annoucement”, a great tune to pass this summer by. You already have a new friend. Call him Boulet!

The Hundred In The Hands
Next stop is Brooklyn where we meet the duo of The Hundred In The Hands (Jason Friedman and Eleanore Everdell). Their brillant debut single “Dressed In Dresden” recorded last year but now is the time to release it. Jason was the mainman from the much-underrated Boggs, whilst Eleanore, as well as being part of the Boggs touring party, also appeared on the latest TV On The Radio album, ‘Dear Science’. “Undressed In Dresden” is a reworking done with friend, frequent collaborator and DFA affiliated Jacques Renault. Fenech-Soler
Maybe they sound French to you, but this three-piece band is coming from UK. Here’s Ben Duffy (vocals, keyboards), Ross Duffy (guitar), Dan Soler (bass, keyboards), the electro dudes behind Fenech-Soler. Their debut single “The Cult Of Romance” (with amazing artwork) is set to be released on May 11th on Alan Braxe’s French label ‘Vulture’. Yes, we like them! Prepare yourself for new dance moves…

Fenech-Soler – “LA Love”

I stumbled over here looking for The Hundred in the Hands, but I like these other two as well. Never heard of either of them, good find.
