Dutch music teacher Jan Turkenburg (also known as Splogman or Menner Jan) and his pupils take us on an interplanetary journey! This is “In My Spaceship”: a stunning, innocent, dreamy melancolic space song. In 2005, attracted by a free-compilation project entitled “Interplanetary Material”, focused on outerspace, Jan Turkenburg teamed up with all his pupils from his classes at the Geert Grote School (aged 4-12) to participate to the recording of “In My Spaceship”: the tune he had composed on his home-synth as an homage to Star-Trek. The result is a unique and solid song. Now, French label Sister Phunk managed to convide Turkenburg to give his song a pop life through a proper release with stellar remixes. At last!
